Does anyone here use a standard wine fridge as a regular fridge or at least for beer or other drinks?
Take all the racks out and they go down to about 42 degrees which isnt that cold, but pretty chilly and I'm wondering if it would keep food fresh for a couple days.

AAAAHHHHH...ZIMA ALERT!

But seriously. We'll use ours for temporary storage of food or for food that doesn't spoil easily, but that temp is a bit higher than a good fridge should be. I wouldn't regularly store food there since it'll spoil sooner. Less insulation too.

Foodies on the Food board probably are more expert on this matter, what with their aprons and all...

Probably not a good idea for wine because a regular fridge has too much vibration as well as the fact that they will dry the corks out.

Bad idea.

You can get decent ones that hold 30 or so bottles for $400-500.

Make sure you get a decent one.

We have one that doesn't go below 54F so everything in it never gets cold enough to be enjoyed.
