Radiohead recently added a second drummer so they're high on my list but also have to say:

Melvins
Allman Bros
Grateful Dead
Doobie Bros

Never really understood the need, maybe a percussionist, if thats your bands sound...

It works really well in large jam-bands, ala the ABB and the Dead. Never heard it in any other genre.

theres a big trade off though. with two drummers, its hard to stop a jam or steer it another direction. for example, listen to some dead from 73, and they sound almost jazzy, because billy was back there by himself and could transition a lot faster on his own than he could when mickey was in the band.

The original ABB easily had the best ability of any jam band - then or now - to soar into space, and come back down in a few steps. Jaimoe and Butch don't get enough credit.

Crosses They only played a few shows, but they do so with two drummers (one is Dino Campanella):

Crosses is definitely not a jam band.

Haven't heard 'em, either.

I did not realize that MM had two drummers, though.

Not many have. Hipster kitty is familiar.

Seriously, though, it's another side project by Chino from The Deftones. The second drummer that they used on tour, Dino Campanella, is a beast.

Genesis - Phil Collins & Chester Thompson

BTW, the great Bill Bruford used to tour with Genesis prior to Thompson........
