The interview should be up on danpatrick.com.

He was asked if anything seemed different in the '09 divisional game and he said no. He said the week before vs the Packers did seem different and he felt he was targeted for head shots. He was also asked if Goodell interviewed him in the investigation to which he also answered "no".

Completely irrelevant. BountyGate is not about bounties, it's a flawed strategy to reduce lawsuit liability under the guise of focusing on player safety. The only way this matters is if the NFLPA takes this to court and finds documentation that this is all a sham.

They already had all the evidence they needed. They didn't need to talk to him. Duh.

I found the interview to be very good and was a bit surprised to hear that Warner was not asked his thoughts on a game that seems to be at the forefront of the investigation.

Hes on the herd now. Says he didnt feel anything anything was out of the ordinary durjng the '09 playoff game against us. He didnt feel like he was targeted or that they were trying to take him out.

I wish I could hear this so Colin could ask Warner if he retired because of the LEGAL hit that the Saints put on him. He implied it yesterday and I would love to hear this come from Warner himself (which it won't).

Yea he didnt ask that. Once Warner said he didnt feel he was being targeted, Colin switched the subject to Junior Seau.

I find that strange. His shot on the INT is the one shot that I can point to and say "yep that was a head hunt" but those happen all the time to QB's and guys on kick coverage not paying attention.

I heard Dan asked him if he would let his kids play football and then Warner was on the fence about it. Then they sampled the shite on Mike and Mike and didn't give Dan any credit.

No one else is going to rat any other teams out.
The rat that gave info on the Saints had an axe to grind and with legit info it was easy for Goodell. Bounties have been a part of the NFL for a long time and since he had proof against one team he could use it to address the whole league.

No it was not. Perfectly legal hit in that situation. You either saw wrong or don't understand the rules.

This whole bounty thing is exposing a lot: Goodell's power hunger, the underworld of actual players who actually play on the field, and all of the media turning into soap operas with a lack of journalistic integrity.

Hit on Warner totally LEGAL!!!!!!

People that say other wise, know very little about football.

Once interception occurred, he turned into a defensive player.

Anyone could block him legally at that time, the shot was a chest shot, no head or knee shot.

Never said it was illegal. Similar thing happened to Favre as a Packer when Mike Sherman was coach. Sapp leveled him and Sherman was pissed and got i his face at the end of game. It is legal. The point I made was that was the ONLY shot I can recall in hindsight thinking "damn". That was a "green light" opportunity for a defensive guy to take his shot.

My buddies and I discussed this. At the NFL level it is too hard to try to "take a guy out". They are ALL too damned fast and it happens too fast. A defender is only worried about making the tackle. Not launch himself at a guy to earn 10 grand. If he missed the shot he would look like a dumbass.

A defender, I don't think, breaks down and says "I can make this tackle with ease. I am going to throw at his knees or head." They need to use form and technique to make a normal tackle or risk looking like a fool and losing a playoff game.

the Warner shot WHILE LEGAL was the only opportunity for the defender to take a calculated shot on a guy. These do happen all the time to QB's after INT's or kickers who aren't paying attention. Warner could have avoided it by keeping his head on a swivel. But I understand it was LEGAL.

This is absolutely false. Warner was a would be tackler. He gets taken out or you lose on the play. That was a 40 year old feeble QB running with the hopes of bringing down the ball carrier. In the game of football you get drilled if you're not looking.
Explain to me how that was a head shot.
