I still can't believe we signed him for 10.5 million last year, what a terrible investment.

It looked terrible at the time and it looks worse now. I'm just glad they knew when to cut their losses

There wasn't much guarenteed in the deal.

so who in the world are they going to plug in at WR when A. Johnson gets injured for a few games this year? I really feel like they are a couple more receivers away from being the most complete team in the league.

Still have Kevin Walter and drafted Devier Posey from Ohio State and Keshawn Martin from Michigan State. If Andre gets hurt people will have to step up, but Jacoby had constantly been given chances to step up and never did.

It's not like he gets injured that often. If we got by with him out last year, this year won't be much of a problem either.

Exactly. It can't be worse, that's for damn sure.

If I were Andre Johnson I would be pissed. Not because the Texans dumped Jacoby Jones, but because they have never ever given him a truly decent No. 2 to deflect attention from him.

I wouldn't say it's for lack of trying. They brought in Jones to be the guy, and now have brought in Posey to be that guy. IMO he will pleasantly surprise next year; guy can play as long as he doesn't get free tats and sell his own merchandise

They've typically had much more pressing needs during his career unfortunately than finding a good #2 WR. We also utilize the Tight Ends quite a bit and still have Owen Daniels there

It was Johnson, Jones, Walter.

We have five guys drafted within the last three years:

Iglesias (might remember him from OU)
Maehl (Oregon)
Lestar Jean (big receiver out of FAU)

and now the two rookies

Posey
Martin

Posey should bring more size. Martin will bring some speed and open-field ability, and should help in the return game.

1) We can't afford it. We are dumping salary not adding. We just gave Foster a bigger contract. If we had any extra money it went to him.

2) I think we are hoping Posey, Martin, or Iglesias step up. We're kinda playing money ball with these receivers right now.

I'm guessing Posey takes the spot Jones played, Walter keeps the same role, Martin plays some in the slot and returns and one of the 3 other guys (Iglesias, Maehl, Jean) and Dwight Jones compete for the final roster spot assuming they don't bring in a veteran.

In all seriousness, Posey has 1st round talent. Look at his junior numbers and that was with Pryor throwing to him
