Yes, I know that the expansion has been discussed at length.

The thing which has bothered me the most about it has not gotten much discussion. Why is it that no one seems to care that LSU (Alleva and the board) chose not to increase the seats to 100,000 or more? Since they didn't, I personally consider the expansion very disappointing.

Here's the TAF announcement: "A proposal to add approximately 60 suites and 3,000 club seats as well as approximately 1,500 general public seats to the south end of Tiger Stadium for the 2014 season was approved Friday by the LSU Board of Supervisors."

So 92,500 + 4,500= 97,000.

By comparison, from Wikipedia, "Bryant-Denny seating capacity=101,821 (2010-present), Record attendance 102,437 , Nov. 5, 2011 vs LSU"

Yeah, I know, the gumps don't know how to count championships or anything else it seems, but I'm sure B-D seating exceeds 97,000 anyway.

Does this bother anyone besides me that we would do an expansion and come up short? Feels like competing in the 100 meter dash and pulling up at 97 meters.

I don't see the big deal, is 100,000 thousand a magic number or something? We can get as loud or louder than anyone with what we have already, and I think the goal was to allow more fans to come to games and make more money for the Athletic Department by selling more tickets. It doesn't have to be about beating Bama in everything.

You must not have taken part in a single thread about the expansion...

Who cares. It will be over 100k for big games. That will be cool. If it's listed at 99,999 it doesn't matter.

LSU's addition will bring it to over 100,000.......but they are not saying this publicly.

I am not sure WHY..........but that 100,000 capacity is HUGE for LSU and it should be done..by any means necessary....

People need to understand that currently Tiger Stadium holds 92,524. The largest attendance was 93,129 against Florida in 2009. Which means that in big games, our attendance will be over 100k due to media, recruits, etc.

You are neglecting people in the suites. Still not 100k but a lot closer than you are thinking.

I totally agree with you. One would wonder, if you are already under 100,000 in seating it just make sense that new plans for adding more seating would include going over 100,000 in seating not staying below. This is STRANGE

probably more like 110,000 based on this expansion I'm sure it would be more suites.

Not a magic number but if a team could get 100,000,000 people at a game, that would be absolutely ridiculous.

Never said they were...but I rather concern myself with that rather than reaching some fabricated milestone of asses in the stadium complaining about Miles and the QB situation.
