Do you have a team you follow in low divisions?

My dad was born in Wiesbaden, Germany so if SV Wehen Wiesbaden ever makes it up to the Bundesliga, I'll be buying a jersey.

Technically its the top division, but its Austria.

Studied abroad in Vienna last summer and went to a few Rapid Wien games. Watched them skull drag Valencia 4-1. Fans are out of their minds. Really cool atmosphere in a really awesome city.

I'd like to visit Austria. The Mecca of antisemitism.

The closes Wiesbaden ever got to the Bundesliga was like 5 years ago. They got promoted into the second division and finished in 8th place. They were relegated the next year. They're currently only two points out of the relegation zone so I doubt they'll be getting up any time soon

Yeah right down your alley.

Yeah that sucks. I'm sure they'll get up there at some point in your life though.

Yeah Rapid were in the second division either year before last or the one before that one. They were recently promoted just before we headed down there to study. Ironic because they're easily the biggest and most successful Austrian side.

My mom's side is from Westphalia. I guess that would put me around the Dortmund area?? I'm not so familiar with German geography and I don't want to google when I have a German expert at hand.

I am a fan of Charlton Athletic, and I'm very happy to see their promotion.

Yeah, Dortmund is probably the biggest city in Westphalia if memory serves. Prior to corporate naming rights (€€€) their place was simply known as Westfalenstadion.

They're brentford fans. Can't really follow them here though.

My daughter was born there while I was stationed in Italy. Love that city.

As for lower division teams, I like a team that will soon be relegated from Serie A -- Lecce (very close to where I was stationed).

I have no idea why but I played a few seasons on FIFA with Chesterfield so I follow them. They kicked butt in league 2 last year but are in the relegation zone in league 1 this year.

Same with Charlton Athletic and I. I don't know why, but that's who I went with and it stuck. This was a few years ago, and I was going for the "Two seasons, two successful promotions" achievement. Played every match too. That was one rough start, though. Have to say.

Wow, I was going to say Lecce too because my Dad was stationed near there. Brindisi, yeah?
