I met a German exchange student last semester who went to college around the Dortmund area. She told me stories about how Mario Goetze's brother gets laid a lot just because he's Mario's brother.

She also said she would see Mesut Ozil hanging around there.

But to answer your question, probably either Dortmund or Schalke, depending on what part of Westphalia.

Yep. San Vito AS. Lived in Ostuni. What years were you there with your Dad?

Ok cool. Been spending the last few months feeling out the Bundesliga in hope that FSC will start carrying it when they lose Serie A. I'll have to delve a little deeper in our family tree to see exactly which team would have been closer.

He was actually there before I was born. Stationed '79-'81.

Better make sure you choose the right side. Schalke and Dortmund are pretty intense rivals.

Brighton in the Championship. My best friend growing up moved from Brighton in 2nd grade. They were Man U bandwagon fans though and got me into soccer during Euro 2000.

Nah, I honestly can't claim an EPL side. I root for Dempsey, Holden, and other Americans. This year I've tried to keep up with Norwich (easy with the green and yellow colors).

I'm not sure but I know we were close to the Dutch border (or so I'm told). Of course that doesn't help all that much because that's indefinite distance east of The Netherlands and probably anywhere north of Monchengladbach and south of Munster. Clearly I just need to get more information.

Roll with that. We don't have a Norwich fan, and they're a lot of fun to watch. I hope they don't hit the sophomore slump because they play some beautiful football.

yeah that's pretty broad. Anywhere from M'Gladbach to Bochum to Dortmund to Schalke

This may help.

Well I just narrowed the southern end down to Dusseldorf. Which takes Gladbach out. Dortmund may be too far east it looks like. I seem to remember my grandfather talking about his grandfather living very close to the Rhine. I'm assuming back then Dortmund was not considered "close."

Seems if I were to go by the odds it would be Fortuna Dusseldorf. And we have 1 title! Boom. Plus apparently they were the only side unbeaten at home last year in all of the top 3 leagues in Germany. Currently in Bundesliga 2.
