Very strange that we don't have a commit on that list yet.

I suspect we'll see some idiots who think our program is in decline due to that fact.

I thought it was weird when I saw Kenny Bigelow being listed at a school in Maryland, so I looked into it. He was at that school in Delaware (Red Lion) with the Marinovich-type dad.

He're a couple interesting links about that:
USA Today - About Red Lion severing ties.
Max Preps - About the new team

He basically started a Findlay Prep-type football team in Maryland. This can't all be on the up and up. The team (I refuse to call them a school) mascot is the Honey Badgers.

I see this team being disbanded after the QB graduates HS, and maybe sooner if they ship him off to Cali to play at a HS there.

4 la. players. don't see beckwidth at 16. too high. williams at no. 33 is app. 100 points higher than the next la. players (dobard and smith). way too much of a gap between the top 2 and the next 2. way,way too much.

I don't follow recruiting that closely but my parents live in Zachary. Whats the word on the OG Christopher Taylor?
Are we in good shape with him being so close? Do we even want him/need him?

Thanks.

That list is even worst than I anticipated.

-Dobard should not be ranked higher than Smith.
-Beckwith should not be ranked that much higher than LA's #3 player.
-Gilmore's profile does not have LSU listed as a school of interest.

ESPN loves jack LB's

I find it interesting that Smith was ranked higher after his junior year of football. But Dobard jumps ahead after committing to Miami.

Did y'all notice we aren't just missing from Greg Gilmore's list of offers? We are not listed on a lot of recruits we have offered.

Who the freak compiles this list? Even Mike S. from Rivals made a thread titled "Wow" regarding these rankings. Complete crap. If ESPN isn't going to hire the right people who know how to evaluate talent, and who could at least write up correct offer lists, then they need to just give it up.

It looks like ESPN like Beckwith a lot more than people on the recruiting board.

I admit I"m not a fan of Beckwith and will never hide it but anyone that thinks he's the 16th best player in the country is nuts. Absolutely nuts. The best scouts of talent in LA wouldn't have him that high nor would his biggest fans. At what position has he ever shown enough potential and talent to be the 16th best player in the country? I haven't seen it and I can bet that ESPN hasn't either. Something is very fishy with that ranking. I'd love to see their explanation of his ranking. That would be great theatre.

2 kids I 'll compare without giving names and tell me where they would be ranked based purely on what you see.

Player 1
6'2 230 4.7 Ath
Plays qb in hs and is slated to play LB or DE in college

Player 2
6'3 215 4.4 LB
Plays LB and RB in hs and has played LB his whole life

Both are in the top 40 of the rankings but 1 is approximately 30 spots higher than the other.

Player 1 has been solid at a couple of camp/combine settings and is a good athlete. Has shown impressive glimpses playing DE at times in HS but primarily plays QB all while striving to play LB in college. Offer list consists mainly of regional schools with Bama and LSU the 2 top schools on his list

Player 2 has dominated 2 camp /combine settings against much better competition. Has played LB very well throughout his hs career while also getting carries and being impressive at RB. In his last camp got beat 1 time in about 15-20 reps playing CB against other 4* wr recruits who are commited to schools such as Michigan and Notre Dame. Has an extensive national offer list and can pick his school.

Which kid just flies off the page as the better prospect? Sometimes the obvious is just flat out the obvious for a reason. Player 2 is better and everyone but ESPN thinks so.

No the funniest part is that the only 2 guys that are ranked high from the state are Bama recruits also. If Bama is not pursuing Beckwith he's not in the espn 250.
