Germans, and he does not have an offer from any other major schools.

Arkansas IIRC has some guys leaving the program and were desperate for a guy. He is not a SEC caliber player IMO.

If the Louisiana player of the year isnt good enough to play for the best in state school, then that says alot about Louisiana basketball

At the end of his recruitment, Arkansas, Georgetown and LSU...were looking. Arkansas offered. He took it. Mike Anderson knows Coach Smith from years ago, they are similar, Dee fit the system. Good luck to the fellow Alum

Why would this guy though, be La's Mr. Basketball over Gathers and Morgan?

Because scout and rivals rankings don't mean anything to Mr. Basketball like it does the Gatorade POY..which is why Gathers won it. Dee avg 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals a game.

Honestly, I think Morgan or Gathers would have won it if it weren't for that Title game. That was one of the sloppiest games you'll ever see and neither took control when it was time to do so...Dee did and led his team to the title over a team everybody thought was better.

The kid can flat out ball. He will be able to play in the SEC. I tell you what though he better get ready to play some D. That's the model at Arky.

Have you ever seen Gathers play in person?

3 of the past 5 Mr. Footballs in Louisiana didn't sniff LSU offers, either. There's a difference between a great high school player and a great college prospect.

ETA: I don't know anything about this kid from Peabody; he may very well be deserving of an offer from LSU.

Great player just too small. He might be 5'9 and is slim built. Offensive game would be ok but I can see where he will have a problem playing defense.

Considering we had no coach we couldn't do anything really...but I wish we offered. We have 5 freaking scholarships left to give out and at least we'd have a serviceable backup PG to Hickey now that Bass is gone. He only had mid-major offers outside of Arky but we were in a position to roll the dice here.

That sure hasn't stopped us from recruiting other guards the past couple of years.

the shocking thing is that in the last 15 years LSU has landed the best player in the state just 5 times. Stro, Big Baby, Taz, D-Mitch, and Lester Earl

5'9 sounds about right, but he isn't slim. He is pretty bulky for a kid his size.

Anderson has been on Wagner for 3-4 months now, but he somehow kept it a secret.(Fans didn't know until he committed a couple weeks back, and signed yesterday)

I like what I hear about him, but we, as pointed out don't have video.
