On the MB because I feel like I'll get some half serious responses and these aren't the cheapest things in the world. So any thoughts appreciated on the brand in general, specific lines, or other mattresses.

How much chee you have?

I would go with something else because pretty much anything will feel good once you get used to it.

If you have plenty of it go for one, they feel awesome but I wouldn't drop several thousand bucks on a bed.(aren't they 5 to 10k?)

Buy a nice one doubt because it's something you use every day, just not something that pricey imo.

Do you have back trouble or anything like that?

The most expensive one I saw on their website was 8k. No, I'm not spending 8k. There are others between 1-3k though. eta: I'm not married to a tempurpedic I just want a good quality mattress and I don't want ot have to buy another one for a decade or two.

If you like them get on it man. 1-3 can be spent on almost every brand for a quality bed. If memory foam is your favorite, get one. They are the best in the business for that kind of bed.

I don't own one fwiw. It's good to get reviews but us caution on that a little bit because people in general don't want to say they made a mistake on a big purchase. So 99% of the time they will rant and rave about whatever they bought.

A regular mattress with a memory foam topper will give you 75% of the comfort for a lot less.

The one really cool feature is not waking the other person up when you get out of bed. That would be worth a good bit to me, but I'm not sure how much, exactly.

It's worth nothing to me as I usually kick them out after a few hours anyway. Seriously though I may go with that idea anyway.

I have it and I like it a lot, but it's just one of those things I'm going to have until I can pay for it without losing sleep over how much my incredibly comfortable mattress cost. It could really be self defeating.

but Restava is just as good, if not better for less than half the cost, plus a better overall warranty and return policy.

Check out the Restava Pearl.

If you're interested in something similar...we just got a Serta iComfort bed. Less expensive memory foam with "cooling gel" or some such. Supposedly sleeps less hot.

We actually liked the feel of the iComfort over the Tempur-Pedic, and the cost is much more reasonable.

FWIW. We've only had ours for about a month, but so far love it.

What is weird is I have slept on numerous tempurpedic beds and they ALL felt different. 2 of the 3 were comfortable as shite. But one was uncomfortable and hot. I just would not want to shell out that much and get stuck with the uncomfortable hot one. I bought ( well my mom) an englander. Really comfortable, not a pillow top so it does not sink in and all that other bull shite. King was about 7-800.

They all have 120 day return warranties, as far as I can tell.

LOL.

Same Serta mattress. Random mattress website: $1200; Amazon: $750. What the flying frick. eta: Sam's said it would take 8-14 days to deliver (I can't fit a king size mattress in my car). Amazon Prime: free 2 days shipping. I feel like I'm stealing.

Serta IComfort. Go try them out. They are heads and tails better than tempur. Plus save good bit of change. I got the base model just because it felt the best to me. A year into the bed it is amazing. When you first get it, it will be stiffer than you remember but it loosened up in about two weeks. Best purchase I ever made. Cost 1800 for a king size. Got them to throw in the free bed frame, mattress protector, and an IComfort pillow.

I have a tempur pedic. Prob the greatest thing I have or will ever sleep on.

I think mine retailed for ~$3500.

I have a Sleep Number bed and love it. I used to have a Tempur Pedic. I had the off brand and the real thing. i liked them, but they don't even come close to my Sleep Number. I have family and friends get them and they love them also. When you look up reviews on them, the thing that most people complain about is they say the warranty is a lie. All most people see is Lifetime Warranty. They see that and don't bother to read the warranty. Then when something goes wrong, and Sleep Number says they have to pay something, they give it a bad review. Well, it is really I limited warranty. If you read it, the thing that goes out the most(the pump) is prorated on the amount of time you have the bed. So, if you have it for 6 years and the pump goes out, you will have to spend about 100-150 bucks for a new one. I have had my bed for 4 years now and haven't had a problem. As far as price, they are comparable to the name brand Tempur Pedics.

Also, for all the people that say paying that much for a bed is stupid, think of it like this...

You will spend more time in your bed than you will doing anything else in your life. Sleep and comfort is more important than a dang 30,000+ vehicle that the average person keeps for 3-5 yrs.
there is a reason why mattress manufacturers do not advertise against Sleep Number beds.

iComfort Revolution.

It was the "middle" in firmness, I believe. Went to a mattress store to try them out.

FYI, the price is set in stone by Serta, so it's worthwhile going to a local store and actually lay on them. I was all set on one model and ended up hating it in the store.

The way stores/Amazon/Sam's/etc differentiate themselves pricewise is rebates, extras, etc.
