just so I understand. There is a guy who was at the center of our greatest basketball coach ever being fired, and our program going on probation. A probation from which we have still not fully recovered.
This same guy is coaching at a low level college, and is at the middle of his conference.
AND WE WANT TO BRING HIM IN AS THE SAVIOR???????
What the hell is going on around here?!!!!

Not gonna happen..

Im a season ticket holder and if they hire Jones then it will be my last, just shows they have given up on basketball.

Alleva

He's a damn idiot! I wish every single day they would have just let his behind go to Tennessee when we had the chance.

Hate to tell you, but Brown was on his way out regardless.

Alleva is getting pressure to hire Jones. Don't condem Alleva for hiring J. Jones until after he does... if he does.

So.......step up and show some leadership and go with the most qualified candidate and not the one who is most connected.

That's our problem.

I might have missed something but has Aleva given ANY indication that he was even considering Jones?

I can understand someone not wanting to hire Johnny Jones, but the Lester Earl situation should have nothing to do with it. Lester Earl has admitted to lying to the NCAA. Even if some of the allegations were true, Johnny Jones was the fall guy. Are you guys going to tell me that Dale Brown was able to recruit the Rudy Macklins, John Williams, Shaquille O'Neals, Stanley Roberts, Chris Jacksons, Jamie Brandons, etc. with out being a little dirty? LSU was never able to recruit nationally (unless the coach brought in his own son) before Dale Brown, and they haven't since. I'm certain Dale Brown knew how to get around the NCAA rules.

Giving anything credence on the basis of this kind of evidence is foolish in the extreme.

LOL who said that?

Not saying he was Coach K, but that's a condemnation on our program

Bobby Knight. How do you call yourself a fan of LSU bball and not know that quote?

I'm not a J.Jones fan either, but at least he has shown *some* semblance of program building at UNT. It's not like we'd be giving him an undeserved shot, imo.

(I still want Bruce Pearl, though.)
