| Rick Stansbury. Would he be good? (Posted on 4/9/12 at 8:59 am)
Has to be able to recruit kids to Louisiana better than Stakville. Always thought he was pretty good.

He had talent at State. They just quit on him. He would not be good here.

I actually think Stansbury is a decent coach, but it certainly doesn't look good PR-wise for LSU to be hiring a guy that Starkville told to hit the road. LSU needs an injection of life into the basketball program. A bold move that catches eyes and makes people think, "hey, that's a pretty good hire for LSU...It'll be interesting to see how that plays out."

Rick Stansbury is John Brady without the x's and o's chops. Yeah. Think about that. No one does less with more than Stansbury, except maybe Rick Barnes.

Have you ever been to Starksville? The fact Stansbury had the success he did is amazing. As for Barnes, he's only been to the tournament with 3 different schools and made the last 17 tournaments. At Texas, he's advanced to 3 Elite 8's and 1 Final Four. If LSU had a coach who had done that over the course of 12 years, we'd be ecstatic.

None of your response had anything to do with doing less with more.

Because I think the proposition is ridiculous for both guys mentioned. In terms of NBA talent within the past 15 years, LSU has arguably had more than Texas and Miss. St. So, you could just as easily say no one did less with more than John Brady.

Here here! Now we're getting somewhere. However, if you think LSU had more talent in basketball than Texas, this conversation isn't worth anyone's time.
