| One of your favorite lyrical lines? (Posted on 4/9/12 at 1:38 am)
It is extremley difficult to name your all time favorite (for me at least), so what is one of your personal favorite lyrical lines? For me... 1:57 mark - One breaks my body and the other breaks my soul....La Cienega just smiles as it waves goodbye I could copy and past the whole lyrics for this song to work fwiw.

Marilyn Manson - Lamb of God If you die when there's no one watching Then your ratings drop and you're forgotten But if they kill you on their TV You're a martyr and a lamb of god

Townes Van Zandt - from Waitin Around to Die Now I'm out of prison, I got me a friend at last He don't steal or cheat or drink or lie His name's codeine, he's the nicest thing I've seen Together we're gonna wait around and die Townes Van Zandt - from If I needed You In the night forlorn the morning's born And the morning shines with the lights of love You will miss sunrise if you close your eyes That would break my heart in two

These verses from "Mariano" by Robert Earl Keen are definitely on my list of favorites. Especially when sung by REK himself. He sits upon a stone in a south-easterly direction I know my charts I know that he is thinking of his home I've never been the sort to say I'm in to intuition But I swear I see the faces of the ones he calls his own Their skin is brown as potter’s clay, their eyes void of expression Their hair is black as widow's dreams, their dreams are all but gone They're ancient as a vision of a sacrificial virgin Innocent as crying from a baby being born

Pink Floyd - Time So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again. The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older, Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

You ain't seen nuthin' till you're down on the muffin Then you're sure to be changin' your ways. I met a cheerleader, was a real young breeder all the times I could reminisce. Cause the best thing's luvin' with her sister and her cousin and it started with a little kiss Like this.
