That was my thought as well. The Warriors appeared to do better when he took over as interim coach last year. Don't know how good of a recruiter he'd be but I assume he'd be able to tell recruits, "I know what it takes to succeed in the NBA. I can help you get there."
I don't know that he'd take the job and I'm sure a few traditionalists would protest since he helped Indiana beat LSU in the 1987 Elite Eight. But I'd be for it. It's worth IMO offering him a at least a 2-3 million contract and see if he'd bite.

Fine coach, but I don't think he would come to LSU with his NBA prospects. Even if he didn't have job security in the NBA, I bet he could either be a top assistant or a head coach in the next year or two if things with the Kings fail.
