Looking for a Subcompact 9mm that the wife may possibly carry. Willing to buy used but definitely want something affordable, reliable and manageable.

That's the thing, she's not a purse girl, but she carry's a diaper bad a lot. So I would assume if she didn't have her diaper bag, she may just pocket carry.

I don't have a subcompact model, but the springfield xdm9 shoots like a dream. Just got it a couple of weeks ago and am very pleased with it

Springfield XDM.

All the previous mentioned are good guns. Just get what feels comfortable to you.

In that case I'll say it again, Keltec PF9

I have the XDM9 3.8 now, and she can rack the slide on that.

I'll be sure to look closely at the Kel-Tec and G26, are you referring to the G26SC or just the G26?

Glock will be a little thick to fit in a woman's pocket. Hell I wouldn't get one for myself to pocket carry.

Also look at Ruger LC9

Alright my personal opinion is a hammerless .38spl is the ultimate Carry gun for a woman. Nothing to do except pull the trigger and nothing to snag on that mountain of shite they keep in their purse. No jams to clear or any of that either. They can just focus on drawing and shooting, and shoot through the purse if they have to.

If she's set on a semi, just make damn sure she can easily rack the slide and work the controls on whatever she likes best. Outside of that idk much about sub-compacts.

I went the cheaper route and purchased a High Point 9mm sub for my wife. It’s a little heavy- (for a sub) and won’t win any beauty contest but it gets the job done. I ordered from Buds for $150 with a case.

Check out the Beretta Px4 Storm Subcompact. The main thing is to make sure that she shoots all of the above suggestions and buys what she likes.

If she's going to carry, she needs to have it on her, not in a bag. The first thing someone is going to do if trying to attack a woman is to separate her from her purse/bag;beacuse they know that more often than not, that's where the cell phone, gun, taser, pepper spray is going to be.

Other than that, take her to a range that will rent guns so she can shoot several. Then just go with something relaible that she can handle comfortably. There are a lot of guns made with women in mind these days.

I suggest the Glock 26. I have one in OD Green and no complaints.
