quote:

"We haven't lost a beat," defensive end Sam Montgomery said. "We're still dominating."

quote:

"I think we have a lot of young guys that are ready to see some SEC football and championship football," said cornerback Tyrann Mathieu, who had a relatively quiet day, breaking up two passes for his only statistics of the game. "They've been working on it all spring long and they're going to work over the summer to prepare for the season."

quote:

"Jalen Collins is going to be a phenomenal player," Beckham said. "He's got a great body type, a 6-3, lanky corner. It's hard to just get past him."

I thought David Jenkins was getting the 3rd spot, at least in the running for it.

I am so glad he came to LSU!!! He is one of my all time favorite players. When we were recruiting him I knew he was going to be a good player but he is just a Great person. Not a bad guy to have representing your team.

Yes he is. He is very old school.

And, he is very well spoken.

And the thing about LSU is that you know the guys that you expect to be good and step up, but it's always some other players giving us a pleasant surprise.

I love this. Brockers and Logan were HUGE surprises last year.

His uncle, a former Marine (and tough as nails), is a part-time caddy at my golf club in South Carolina. He's been talking Sam up since he was in grade school, not only as a great athlete, but as a classy kid from a good family with maturity and a sense of purpose for his life. Seeing him succeed is terrific.

Off topic, but Eric Reid looked like he's bulked up and ready to bring the pain.

Having top 5 picks in back to back years isn't good enough for you?

i honestly think the LBs will be better than last year. baker's combine really didn't impress me. ronnie feist will be beast mode on a different level. hopefully muncie and lamar louis can contribute as well.

"I think we're going to win a championship with him," Mathieu said of Mettenberger. "That's just my opinion, but he's throwing the ball and he has his receivers in a stream of confidence right now. I think those guys are going to do something special this year."

If this is the case as most of us knew last year, then why wasn't Mettenberger the starter from day one in 2011
