My parents just got a "new" boat from a family member... for just $500 ( ). My mom was absolutely no help in giving me details, other than this photo.

They had a boat mechanic check everything, and it's "good to go." No problems.

The point is, I have it at my disposal whenever I want, so I'm pumped.

A bit of a snob are we?

Throw a troll motor on that and go catch some specs. That boat would be great around Grand Isle in the summer time. For $500, how bad could it be?

I offered them $750 for it, but that wasn't attractive enough, I guess.

If I can use it any time I want, it runs and I can have 3+ drunks aboard, then I'd say it is worth it.

It'll be a pain in the arse driving to get it each time, though. I wish I could just store it at my house.

While I hate those boats with a passion, the pic has given me an idea for my spare tire.

It looks like about a 20ft Formula, maybe a early 90s model.

That is what I got too. They were notorious for the little emblems on the back, and the air vent.

Appears it's a: '89/90 Chaparral 1900SX Sport with what seems to be a 5.0L V-8.

seems like it'd get in way of some deeper decline launches.
