If he does it would be impressive as hell. In those days you couldn't really pitch around anyone because everyone could hit.

I'd say yes to both questions. Let's see where he is after 20 SEC games.

indeed, he has shown remarkable consistency so far this season

lot of baseball left to be played. it'll be close for the avg record imo

I'd say no way but it's crazy he's at .479 right now. I'd say .400 is doable but LSU is going to face some fantastic pitchers in the SEC.

good point. if he's still over .450 after these next 2 weekends against arkansas and florida pitching, it will almost start to seem likely that he gets it

Honestly I've pulled for him ever since I've heard comments that he would suck given his impressive numbers at LSU-eunice. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like he has a chip on his shoulder and I would love for him to go down in history.

LSU faces Baxendale, Johnson, and Randall in the next 2 weeks. Lets see what his average and hits are after that. Those 2 series will tell you a lot.

hits record will be tough unless we go deep in the post season. have to take into account larson had the benefit of 14 postseason games w/ the SECT, reionals, and CWS. His average is ridiculous right now, but we've had hiitters in the past start off crazy good and taper off in conference play. Only time will tell. Still a long way to go, but his approach at the plate is promising. I'd be great to see him bat .400 as it hasn't happened since eddy furniss in 98

It's waaaay too early...so early that I'd say there is a high probability that he will not.

Rhymes will get to .500 if he goes 2/2 in his first 2 at bats Tuesday night.
