By nuking the Saints, the NFL is playing a very dangerous game.

If the big spot light on bounty programs leads to other bounty programs being exposed, this shite's gonna get outta hand quick because the punishment standard has been set and will have to be applied in subsequent situations.

Banning from the NFL, year long suspensions for the HC and haven't even gotten to player suspensions yet. shite could blow up in the NFLs face and I hope that happens.

As long as the punishment stays the same across the board who cares? Cheating is cheating, lying is lying and the Saints got caught doing both. Legal actions could still take place. It was dirty it is serious I see no issue with the hammer coming down.

If it is discovered to be a several or many team issue the current punishment will be reduced.

Yes and No.

There is nothing to discover. Everyone knows its a league wide issue. The NFL will not pursue other teams so the Saints can be made the example. Any other team must take this opportunity because its amnesty for them to stop.

The NFL will only "discover" more teams if they are forced to so this punishment can stay this harsh. The other teams will do what they must to survive and will stop for awhile.

when will people get it through their thick arse skull that there is a difference between CHEATING, and BREAKING THE RULES.

What the Pats did was cheating, what we "did" was break the rules. honestly if your(NFL/Goodell's) whole mission is to protect the integrity of the game but you gave the people who literally cheated on the field in the game you're trying to protect a slap on the wrist you're an arsehole and joke. Goodell has lost the little respect I had for him left.

No team will have a Bounty system near as organized or encompassing of defensive personell as the Saints had, and if accused I doubt teams will have multiple people continue to lie and cover up their involvement like the Saints did.

You can bet your arse that when all of this broke that any evidence that could be destroyed was. Now that ppl around the league have seen how harsh these penatlies are, no one will talk now. The ones who might would will be bought off with money under the table.

I heard reports from former players that they have NEVER EVER heard of any team which gave bonuses for injuring players. This is not a common practice and is about an egregious an act as you can committ in the NFL.

And there is direct conversation/documentation that the NFL has, so you're completely wrong. Shut the frick up.

Others programs will be exposed but will probably be given amnesty or a slap on the wrist for "complying" with the league. SOmething the Saints didnt do.

Any future "bounty" programs are going to be downplayed to the extreme.

The penalties inflicted on the Saints have made the NFL a safer place.

You are an idiot. Mark May said he has never heard or seen a bounty system. How can I be wrong? I simply reported what other players said. I DID NOT say it has never happened in the NFL.

This is really humorous since AP got hurt against the Redskins.

A good friend of mine is a reporter at the Mobile Press Register and apparently he has some damning evidence that Nick Fairley received cash after the Auburn-UGA game in which he took repeated cheap shots at Aaron Murray. I mean don't get me wrong I think Fairley is a bad arse but how awful is that?
