Didn't we do pretty damn good last year when Payton was out? Payton never coached defense and Drew Brees and his relationship leads one to believe that Brees and Carmichael will be capable of scoring touchdowns. Im just thinking this may not be as bad as people are making it out. The penalties themselves are way too harsh though

if they brought someone in, it would have to be someone with a similar coaching philosophy to payton. It would be a total clusterfrick to bring in someone who is going to change everything, especially just for one year. They are probably better off just promoting an assistant who knows payton's system as an interim.
