“I’d give them a 10.”

“LSU felt like it was home. They’ve got a great tradition of defensive linemen. I feel like I could do some good things there. I could see myself playing there.”

Do you guys think we now have a legit chance after his visit? He says he will announce his decision on May 18th.

I'm willing to bet that he will change his mind at least twice

If he holds to May 18 then it will be Bama. No other school has had enough time to pull him away by then. Either way no school will stop recruiting him at that point so he'll be looking around until he enters or signs. Best way to go is to be hopeful and positive but not to expect him. That can only lead to disappointment.

Everything does point in the direction to Bama before his visit.. But after seeing what he was posting on twitter during & after his LSU visit, I think we may definitely be in play here.

Here's to hoping

Mickey Conn isn't pushing Robert Nkemdiche anywhere. He may have played at Alabama, but we've only signed one of his Greyson kids in the 10 years he's been there. Now, he may educate RN on Alabama but that would as far as he would go, IMO. If he chooses Alabama it will be because of the relationships he has with the Alabama staff. LSU, Clemson, and Ole Miss will all make it a long wait until May 18th.

I believe he is all bama and I say I'm going to stop getting my hopes up with these guys, but I always do. I think that's part of the fun Following recruiting though. These comments he made are great and you never know he could go somewhere besides bama. Stranger things have happened. Reguardless who he chooses he will be recruited until nsd. I hope he can make it to tiger stadium next year when we play bama!

I am puzzled. I think he might truely not have a school in mind just yet. If he was a bama lock I don't see those words coming out of his mouth.

But part of me thinks (left half) that he is going to compliment a good visit when he has one so that only means he isn't an LSU lean... at least not yet.

Don't they usually try to keep decisions a mystery. If he has decided LSU is the place for him I think he would keep his comment a little less enthusiastic.

Whatever the truth is I think we at least have a shot. Like maybe he has a favorite but now doesn't know.

Ramble ramble ramble it is 3 in the morning so cut me some slack.

Interesting.

quote:

Denzel via cell from Ole Miss: “We’re definitely going to do a ‘package deal’ because that’s what our mom wants us to do. Ole Miss hasn’t mentioned Robert to me. But wherever I sign, that’s where Robert is probably going to sign.”

Article from last year
I think this will be a funny story when all is said and done.

I sure hope we can pull it off...I feel the class of 2013 will be strong followed by a good number of 4 and 5 star recruits. Our success from last season coupled with what we are about to pull off this season will go a long way with recruiting this yr.

I have always believed that UA's main competition for RN would be LSU. I am not sure how much ground Miles has made up, but ever since RN has named a top group of schools LSU has always been there and he always seems to say good things about them. The decision will come down to whether he wants to play in a 3-4 or 4-3. And he will succeed in either system or school. He is that good.

I wonder how much stats matter to him. In Bama's system, he would take up blocks while the LB's pick up the sacks.

I posted this on one of our boards and this is a trend I am seeing with him. He appears to be helping out friends and family get scholarships by hinting he may be a package deal. Again just how I am reading things.

Denzel(his real brother) had no offers, mostly because of academics and maybe some other concerns, but Denzel started telling schools that him and Robert wanted to play together, that their mother wanted them to play together, and even said they would be a package deal. Robert when asked said he would love to play with his brother. Next Ole Miss offered Denzel, he commited, and when asked about playing together he said Ole Miss would get a look now but said after Denzel comited he will do what is best for him.

Next, Robert last season lived with Nick Schuessler. At the time he only had one offer from MTSU, but when Robert was interviewed he talked about how he considered Nick a brother, loved the family, and would love to play with him in college. Ole Miss, Miss State, Ark, and few more offered. Come NSD he signed with MSU and afterwards Robert said he would look at MSU but will do what is best for him.

Now Robert has a 3rd best friend/brother, D Kamara. Now Kamara is trying to get legit looks, but no real offers until Robert says he would love to play with David and if the right opportunity became available he would consider the package deal. Guess what Ole Miss and few others are now offering David. They both just visited Clemson a place I hear David really likes but they have not offered yet. But Robert was just quoted as saying we are both going back up there this weekend to see if they are going to offer. They actually went on a Monday and D Kamara got his offer.

It seems Robert is trying to leverage his position to secure scholarships for his friends and family. Again just my opinion but there is a pattern here.

Now those schools will say it is legit but I do not buy it. Kamara did visit with RN and several other team mates to LSU and Kamara thinks LSU will offer soon, but I think they want to see him at camp before they offer, unlike the others that just throw the offer out there to get RN.

Actually RN likes UA because he will play LB. He has stated that in several interviews that he sees himself as the next Upshaw. So for UA he would play OLB/Jack and for LSU a DE.
