...if he got Mike Davis as an assistant.

Davis just got canned at UAB today.

He's a better recruiter than anybody on LSU's staff right now.

Why would Mike Davis want to do that?

Trent Johnson should be happy that we don't fire people as quickly as UAB apparently does. Sheesh.

True but he went to the 3 NITs and 1 tourney in the 4 years before this year. Looking at it on paper he was doing a good job there.

He was there for 6 seasons. Went to the NIT three times and was in the NCAAA First Four game last year after winning CUSA. Had one year left on his contract, but was apparently fired for poor ticket sales and attendance. By UAB's standards, Johnson would be gone already.

If he is a great recruiter, then why was he fired? Never did want to hire someone that was fired.......

You would think he'd get emeritus status over there for that.

Mike Davis is not a good idea. Guy can't coach his way out of a paper bag, and is not that good of a recruiter either.

I grew up in Indiana, have been an IU basketball fan for 40 years, and watched him run that program down hill in a hurry. Davis is a nice guy, but not a good coach.

The only five-star recruit that he ever really landed at Indiana was DJ White, who is basically his nephew.

A. I said Trent would do himself a lot of good. Not necessarily do LSU a lot of good. What would do us a lot of good would be hiring a championship-level coach, which Trent doesn't recruit well enough to be.

B. We're not getting rid of Trent this year, even though it's a mistake not to make a change. Seeing as though as of right now we're four guys short of a full roster with signing day three weeks out and we don't even have any public commitments yet, it's wishful thinking to assume we're going to be significantly better next year. If we can't get rid of him, then he needs all the help he can get.
