There's a market on the west side of the road just north of Empire. Sorry I'm no more help.

It's called Frelich's.

To the OP, if you are going to Lafitte you can find shrimp most likely at some of the seafood docks in Lafitte or if they don't have shrimp (it's not shrimp season right now) then your best bet would be the shrimp lot in Westwego. They will no doubt have shrimp there.

I think he is launching there. He is not from there but fished with a guide when on business trip to belle chase and isn't familiar with much else.

And was wondering about shrimp to eat. I stop at b&j in Hammond every time I pass through for a game and can buy jumbo shrimp usually at 2.49. Here those same shrimp would look like a weed eater was passed through them and the heads would be black and would cost 8.00 !

You won't be able to find shrimp that cheap this year? You are most likely going to pay $4/lb or higher for jumbo shrimp right now.

If you are looking for bait shrimp there are only a few places in Belle Chasse that I can think of. Salvo's,Lady Grace's, and maybe Captain Larry's just south of Belle Chasse.

The guy has that place up for sale right now. I'm not sure if it is open or not. It could be but I don't pass during operating hours when I go that way.

No it's on the north side of the tunnel. It's a bait/ice shop on the right right before you go through the tunnel. I think it's a blue metal building.
