Favorite characters in the ME universe and why

Can be who you use in your party or whose story you like. Please keep it as spoiler free as possible.
1) legion- the whole story about the geth is really deep and I like the heretics aspect.
2) Mordin- Initially I didn't care for Mordin but I grew to like his mannerisms and story. The whole singing dialogue was pretty funny. Brings the story full circle and earns a lot of respect in ME3.
3) Grunt/wrex- krogan culture is pretty cool.
Least favorites are
1) Kaiden- does anyone save him in ME1? dude is boring as shite and has no depth
2) Ashley- while I am warming up to her in ME3, I find her opinions to be abrasive for whatever reason.

Garrus would have to be my favorite.
Other characters have their moments, but garrus has always been consistently awesome.
Doesn't hurt that he's a party member in all three games.
Huge fan of the krogan squadmates as well.

I started playing with my biotic Shepard in ME3.
Apparently, I saved Kaiden on that playthrough. He still sucks.

I'm glad that I have one Kaiden game just to see the contrast, but so far it hasn't been that different.
I don't like Ashley much either, so it doesn't matter which character is in that spot for me. Just a lame placeholder either way.

Yeah, I play soldier so Ashley is replaceable, for me.
I always bring liara along for biotics, but her story...eh
I did get the me3 achievement for starting a romance with her... But...the asari don't do much for me, aside from their awesomeness in combat

Yeah, I got it on with liara my first time through.
Had a brief fling with tali, but liara didn't seem to mind when shep showed interest in starting where things left off from ME1.
I expected some sort of problems for cheating. Apparently liara has shite for self esteem.

Aria seems like a cool chick, hanging in the VIP at purgatory, not giving a frick, running shite. Samara was a cool char in me2, as well.
I enjoyed tali; jack was pretty forgetable

I don't get the Tali hate? She always performed well for me.
