it's a basically a vegan book in disguise, and people who buy into it pretty much argue exactly like you do
if protein was that horrible for us, we'd have never survived long enough to evolve. carbs are a very, very recent addition to the human diet. carb use has exploded over the past 100 years. meat consumption has declined. cancer rates have increased

No. I don't consider a bunch of food enthusiasts on a college forum to be a representation of society at large.
Just like I wouldn't expect the gaming board to say anything about the gaming habits of the general population nor would I expect the movie board posters to be a reflection of the movie viewing habits of the general population.

So you can tell from your observation point on the street that the people at the wal mart that you pass by don't eat organic produce?
Why do they sell it there if no one buys it?
And wal mart is also a retail center. Many people aren't even there to grocery shop.

Get it back down to levels from 1905 for 50 years and I think we'll see a few changes in the cancer rates. Dropping meat consumption by a tenth of one percent of 27 billion pounds.....not so much.

Find a local (to you) supplier of grass fed beef.
I don't trust the CAFO crap. Last time I cooked some CAFO burger in a skillet, it smelled awful, like a mix of cow manure and something more sinister.
It's grass fed all the way for our family, from a farmer we know.

Uhhh Powerman. I like this forum, and there are some serious food people on here, but let's be honest. This was started to get the food related topic off of the OT, not to discuss the finer things food related. It's attracted those who are of that mindset, but that's not the majority of posters on this board by any stretch, and certainly not the ones who pop on here to discuss hamburgers every day all day any day pick the day.
