Going to be in the area in a few days for a conference. What are the Musts as far as places to eat? Need both lunch and dinner options.

Hong Kong Garden is great, there are tons of Mexican places there. Los Cucos cantina is good

Los Cucos is the best Mexican food in the area. Go to the original one in old town versus the one at the mall. God damn i love that place.

This....

One of my favorites... Marini's Empanada House

Black Walnut Cafe pretty good food

Nonmacher's BBQ on Mason is supposed to be pretty good, haven't been yet.

You can drive to Towne Center area off of Beltway and go to Yardhouse for good beer selection and pretty good food.

We generally go to Lupe Tortilla for Mexican food

I met the people from No Label brewing 3 weeks ago at a crawfish boil at NOLA Brewery. Good people, they said they get like 300 people show up for the tour there. Told them I'd come by next time I'm in Houston.

They do....it is pretty cool, and they have some damn good beers. The black wit-o was really good. Best of all...it is maybe 10 min from my house

Best fajita's is town are at El Rancho. Two locations, one on Fry at Grand Parkway (in the HEB shopping center), Perry's for the pork chop or from 4 to 6:30 their happy hour.

I would skip Lupe's - I have been there 3 times and never had good service.

Fuzzy's for pizza (on Mason Road), Los Cuco's in town (hwy blvd), Solara for mediteranian (Mason)

Watch out - the Katy Rodeo is this weekend, so it may be really crowded. The rodeo is Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Worth the trip - many of the same guys and girls that will compete in the Houston rodeo, but in a much smaller venue. The wife and I will be there on Friday and maybe tonight.

Welcome to Katy! Enjoy your stay in our "little" town!!!!

And it reheats really well since leftovers are pretty much inevitable

Some of the best pizza you will eat is at Candelari's. Damn good, and has St Arnold's on tap
