Jeremy Lin as a Hornet?

Hornets have about 17 mill in cap space for next year. Re-Sign EG makes it about 5-6 mill which is what people think Lin will sign for. Will NYK match that much is the question. Especially if someone like Nash may be willing to sign for less.
Sure, things have to happen (Hornets dealing Jack would be a big part of it and that isn't likely to happen)... but there is a chance.

If he keeps this up for the rest of the season, someone is gonna ridiculously overpay. And it ain't gonna be the hornets.

I am not sure... If I am an owner looking to make money with this team in New Orleans...
1) Got the Mexican market cornered.
2) I can corner the Asian market by simply overpaying for a decent starting PG (what Lin likely is).
Paying Lin even 8 Mill a year will have an exponential ROI for whichever team does it. Kid will likely make most ASG because of his ethnicity and his Jersey sells (already flying up) would be huge.

Zero chance NY lets him get away if he keeps playing like this. He's already become the fan favorite over there. Letting him go would be way too big of a gamble for their front office even if they have to pay up.

NY isn't letting him get away, but the real question is is he a product of D'Antoni's pg friendly system?

If the hornets/rockets deal goes through, he's still a rocket. Stern really screwed the Rockets
If Stern doesn't veto the Lakers/Rockets/Hornets trade Jeremy Lin would still be a Rocket. Houston couldn't keep Lin because they already had 3 PG's with fully guaranteed contracts (Lowry, Dragic, Flynn). If the trade is allowed to go through, Lin would have been able to take Dragic's spot on the roster. Instead Stern vetoes the trade, and now Lin is singlehandedly saving the Knicks season, and keeping them out of the lottery. Oh ya, Houston owns New York's first rounder (top 5 protected)

Still doesn't matter, no one was coveting Lin cause they wasn't even thinking about him or playing him. It's not Stern's fault. It seens that the Knicks just figured out who he was since they just started playing him or they didn't have anyone else and he just panned our for them.

Uh... no.
Lin's currently in a Mike D'Antoni system which tends to emphasize offense and a fast pace over defense.
The Hornets tend to play a slow pace with lots of defense.

Still? The "veto" has been debunked.

At least give Bill Simmons credit if you're going to copy what he wrote.

Lin wouldn't get near the exposure in NOLA as he is getting in New York.
It's a big sports market up there. If he played somewhere like Milwaukee or Minnesota, Linsanity would be a mild disturbance AT BEST.
