The guy has a two yeard deal, right? So far, he looks like a damned good pick up by Demps.
I know there are a lot of unknowns at this point, but do you see him as a potential starter for us in a year?

I predict he'll tweet something about Mexico, which will send outrage through the Hornets board claiming he doesnt wanna be here and that he is a giant a-hole, who hates New Orleans
we should ship his arse out now before it gets too bad around here.

I think a lot will depend on who we draft, but I can def see him as our 6th man getting about 30 min a game.

I think we all love us some Goose, but he probably won't start in a year because in theory we will be drafting a quasi all star PF. However, a 2nd unit of Vasquez, Smith, Ayon and 2 guys yet to be determined will probably be one of the better benches in the league.

I really could see Ayon developing into a Scola type player.

It all depends on Davis, who I think needs to be a center, but I'm not a scout. I think Gustavo definitely has starter potential. Honestly, I think he'd be a better option to start at PF than 99% of "professional rookies."

If he develops into a starter that'd be great. I agree you can eventually move Davis to center, and if you get TRob but feel Ayon is good enough to make him expendable, I'm sure you could pick up a good SF or PG for him.

He's still a little raw but I like the conparsion. Great find by Demps. Bower would never make that move

I would prefer to draft a wing over a PF if possible. We're going to end up like the Hawks. 8 different players in 1 position.

Landry will be gone next year, that means you'll have 1 PF backed up by 2 4/5s in Smith and Ayon.

Why is Ariza playing so much and Aminu playing so little? One of the theories I've heard that makes the most sense is they see Ariza as the SF going forward.

I think Monty has Ariza running the offense when Vasquez is off the court.
I wouldn't let Marco or the 10-day contract point run the offense either, if possible.

Flip the coin and you have "he doesn't see Aminu as the answer moving forward." I really do think the 3 is where we should use the later pick unless someone falls into our laps.

I see him as a starter now. Dude is legit.

I honestly don't see rawness at all. The guy looks like he knows how to play the game and he has skills and athleticism. Good hands, quick feet and pretty good explosiveness. Plus he just has the knack of making plays. Finishes well around the basket on either side, gets his hands on loose balls or on passes when playing D, and is an agressive rebounder. The guy is good.

for a second I thought this was talking about Aminu, and my jaw dropped.

I think his biggest issue is the language barrier.

Aminu would be the definition of raw.

He's so much better than I ever knew. He seems to have really good hands, great awareness, and a lot of basketball instincts. In addition, he hustles, and looks pretty advanced as for as playing team basketball. He knows where to go with the ball, where to be without the ball, and moves his feet pretty well on defense. At first glance, you'd think he was just a blue collar type banger but he's actually quite skilled. I thought he had a great game against the Knicks.

Definitely looks better than I expected. He's a lot more polished and can only get better.
