I know for a fact that Shorty uses the negativity spewed out on this site in particular to help recruit players away from LSU!

Yes, many LSU fans are, unfortunately, negative nabobs, but couldn't we point to bottom dwellers like Updyke and Downing as examples of Ala. fandom? What they did is much worse than anything a fan forum warrior writes.

But their fans still stood with the leadership through the rough start that Shorty began with, including that humiliating loss to the WarHawks up in Monroe....LSU is the best thing that ever has or ever will happen to Louisiana and yet many trashy scuzzy ignorant scumbags try to drag it down to their lowly level with themselves! Louisiana doesn't deserve LSU!

Most coaches are not that smart as IQs go. But most know what side of the bread to butter...and recruiting is the life blood of a team...they live or die with their results of recruiting. Shorty learned a lot at LSU...and he spoke often about the attitude known as "the Catastrophe Syndrome"...ie..the sky is falling every time something doesn't go as planned. Poor and ignorant folk in La. often expect the worst and sit around waiting for it to unfold...and some are not emotionally satisfied until it does ...and the hang out on this site looking for the next disaster to puke their pittiful guts out all over the rest of us! I used to teach in Louisiana, and my of the students in public schools tried every day to drag the smart and ambitious students down into the gutter with them each and every day. Eventually, after many years I couldn't stand it any more and chose a more healthy life to pursue. And it hasn't gotten any better since I left. I follow LSU religiously because it is the shining city on the hill in La.

"negativity spewed out on this site" doesn't help LSU...I think we are bright enough to know that, but I'm hard pressed to believe 18 year old guys/their parents put much stock in the rantings of nameless guys on a sports forum.
