If he has good grades and is a good player, he should be able to go somewhere like Rice or Northwestern.

On the spectrum of players getting screwed over in the recruiting process, this kid isn't even on the radar. He still has plenty of opportunities.

Didnt Barry Sanders Jr commit to Stanford as a RB? I may be confused on this.

He can be the next Matt Forte! .... though assuming he is competitive.... Tulane may not be at the top his list.

there's no way that if Stanford really wanted him he wouldn't get accepted. They just found someone better to replace him.

SECRb is saying the Jameis Winston just visited Stanford this weekend and has them in his final 2. He is waiting to get accepted apparently.

Would be really sad if this guy committed whole-heartedly and was denied admission to the school, but they bring in Winston.

totally sucks, but it does have an easy fix

do not allow school to offer athletic scholarships until the student clears the school admissions process

Schools would never go for it. Makes too much sense.

Stanford has some of the most strict requirements for being recruited. They're the only school in all of D-1 that requires a student to be admitted before they can even offer a scholarship. This means they have to pass the entrance exams and their entrance essays have to be approved before a coach of any sport at Stanford can offer.

He only had a 26 on his ACT, that wouldn't even sniff admission to Stanford for a non-athlete.

Stanford has extremely strict admissions requirements and they do not make exceptions for athletes. The boosters do not run that place, billionaire business leaders do.

Barry Sanders (he isn't a Jr by the way) is going to Stanford with 3.4 average but had to take the SAT/ACT 7 times to get it to their standards.
