It's easy to be negative, but we did beat every team that we played last year!

LSU coach picking his nose during BCS 2012 game and ordering ham and cheese and asleep at the wheel and out to lunch.

I think the lingering negative vibe comes from the fact that if your team loses during the regular season, there is always next weeks game to make it better. When you lose the big one at the end of the season, with expectations so high, it causes for a huge letdown that the off season can't remedy. Couple that with a less than Les-like recruiting effort this year and everyone seems to be in a funk.

This. AND, again, it's not so much that we lost, it's how we played.

No game plan. No Qb subs, no energy. Almost no first downs. If we played hard but Bama won anyway it would have been disappointing but not humiliating. That's the problem.

LSU had a remarkable season in 2011 and that's a fact. There's nothing anyone of the naysayers can say to change the fact that they went 13-1 which, by far, is the best single season record they've had. I'm both an LSU and Bama supporter and couldn't be happier with the results of both teams! :)

So as a true supporter of both you'd have been just as happy with the results of both if LSU had won the 'ship, right? Just askin'.

There are a ton of positives from 2011.. Les Miles has shown he can field a National Championship caliber team with his recruits.

Another positive perspective is that even with shitty QB play towards the end of the season, LSU still dominated these games, except Bama. Mettenberger might be just what this program needs right now, someone to jumpstart the offense.

Yeah, I would have. My daughter would have been a soph at LSU when 1/9 came around. Unfortunately, she didn't make it because she died in an accident in BR while attending freshman orientation in 7/2010. I've always liked LSU but losing her there made me support them even more, if you can understand that :)

Fair enough, you seem like a genuine fan of both unlike most who claim to be. And I'm very sorry for the loss of your daughter.

Thanks all....it's been tuff, for sure. If you saw the back of my truck, you'd know what I say is true: It has a magnetized A in Bama Script and the eye of the tiger fleur de lis. My son is also fixing to move to the Hammond area as he's tired of the long distance relationship he and his girlfriend have. I've also been going to LSU games since the late 70's and was part of the crowd making the seismographs go nuts at the auburn (earthquake) game
