Awful area for "dining." Avoid AJ's like the plague. Do however check out the Love Shack..its past San Destin and secluded in the woods. Really cool place and really good

Boat House is there for the ambiance. Oysters are OK, the beer is not cold enough. But, I've been going there for years because it's tradition.

There are some really nice restaurants a little further east on 30A, towards Seaside.

If you're willing to make the drive, Captain Anderson's is little past Rosemary and Seagrove Beach. Its owned by Mike Anderson, but is a little more upscale than the one in BR. Great food, great atmosphere, definitely worth the drive and wait.

There's also a little Mexican restaurant a little down 85 (towards the intercoastal) from the SunDestin and Emerald condos. Really good, inexpensive, authentic Mexican and great margs. Just can't remember the name. Its around Louisiana Lagniappe.

In destin proper? for fine dining, you can't beat Beach Walk, Vintij, or bistro bijoux. there are better options out on 30A if you're willing to drive out there.

Went to Cuvee Bistro the other night for wife's birthday. Service was outstanding. Food was excellent. The owner/chef used to own Beachwalk in it's original location. He bought this place and really upgraded the menu. I had a venison in port wine reduction that literally melted in my mouth. Wife had the tuna (rare) and it was excellent. The atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. A little on the high end price wise but no more than Cafe Tango and a lot closer for us since we are in Niceville.

I got the best blue rare fillet dry rubbed in smoked paprika and topped with a Chimichurri sauce you could ever imagine. Unreal how good it was.
