Why Does Everyone Buy Kiel's Excuse?

I don't know that Kiel will come straight out and say the real reason he decommitted, but I think distance and Mom card are too easily accepted. He already knew how far it was from home and it wasn't as if this suddenly became an issue overnight. He very well could be a Mama's boy, but I would think his Mom is less selfish than guilting him into staying at home.
The truth is harder for our fans and coaching staff to accept. The Kiel's probably have too much class to say how much January 9th concerned them. Instead, they play the convenient truth of blaming it on his Mom/distance factor.
It's a polite way of Kiel saying, "Sorry the distance is just too much for my family," when what he really wants to say is, "I feel that I've made a mistake after watching the BCS Title game and I sincerely apologize, but I don't want to play in such a limited offense."
It is what it is. And frankly, I'm glad the story has been spun to make his Mom the scapegoat. Otherwise, it's shitty PR for LSU.

His mom told him if LSU loses the BCS MNC, then he has to go to Notre Dame.
Gunner said "No, if LSU doesn't score a point, then I will go to Notre Dame."
...the rest is history.

How so?
Do you think he was concerned that LSU didn't really want him inspite of all the time they spent trying to convince him to come to LSU?
Do you think the lack of QB talent scared him away?

I believe that distance played a role. Also, and here is something more telling, they felt he should be given everything. Not win a spot on the field. Just ask Trent Dilfer.

you're just picking man. trying to start a fight. i imagine a recruit that uses one game as an indicator to change his committment is somebody that sure as hell has serious flaws in his decision making. why can't you take his work for it? you are saying he would have honored his committment if we had beaten bama, a team we had already beaten.

"Limited offense"
Do you realize it was limited BECAUSE of the very position he plays.
Doesn't make sense bro.

The OP has it right. Kiel was just too blinded by us to realize how putrid ND's supposedly high powered offense of the genius Brian Kelly looked against FSU in the bowl game.

They could have called Les and the offense inept, predictable, an epic failure, etc. Instead, they just said it was too far and he's a Mama's boy.

I don't understand where you're coming from with this.

Are you implying Kiel's lack of QB talent or LSU's depth at QB? Regardless, I don't think either one of these were the reason he decommitted.

I don't think I'll be seeing him anytime soon.

So explain Mett coming here after a whole season of putrid offense last year. If one game deterred him then see ya and good luck with the Irish.

You're probably right and I agree with you.

I'm not saying that we would have had to beat Bama. I'm saying the horrible playcalling, the unwillingness to make in game adjustments, and seeing our coaching staff give up HAD to affect his decision. It wasn't that we lost, it's how we lost.

LOL
So we can believe his excuse or we can invent our own reasons?
terrible. Must be a rantard.
