Using this list...anybody we may lose? Any that are locks? Any overrated...underrated? Etc?? I know there is a 2013 topic but this is much more specific to the LA recruits only. Too much info in that main topic to filter that out.

John Diarse & Rickey Jefferson
Diarse to Bama & Jefferson = ?
Diarse to Bama & Jefferson = ?

My buddy has always told me that Rickey loves Bama. Not sure he gets an offer but if he does I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to Bama.
My buddy works with JJ's dad.
Also I am not sure Ellis wants to be at LSU either. Just a feeling, no inside information.

I don't think there is a sure fire #1 next year, unlike last year. I think both Diarse and Jefferson and are question marks at the next level. They could be very good or non-factors IMO. Thus, I think there is room for others to outperform them this summer at camps and take that spot.

Is there really already enough information swirling that leads people to believe Diarse is a Bama lean?

Thanks. Jefferson may be better with a fresh start somewhere else. Why Diarse to Bama?

Saban has been on Diarse for awhile now.

I hope I'm wrong, but where there's smoke, there's fire - there was so much around Collins we couldn't even see it.
Again, hope I'm wrong - I think he ends up the #1 player in the state, and we would lose 2 in a row to Bama if all of this sorts out this way.

247 sports has Diarse listed at 6'2" 220 lbs. He may end up playing LB!

I like how Kendall Beckwith is a DE and a dual threat QB

Isn't Rob Sale on Saban's staff at Alabama?

I don't get the craze for all these Louisiana kids to go out of state, especially when lsu is on top of college football.

To specifally answer the OPs question. None are sure things to leave the state. Diarse does like Bama as does Jefferson but neither are guaranteed to get an offer from Bama. Neither are "elite" prospects. There are quite a few kids on that list that are almost surely Tigers as long as we offer as usual. I don't like the word lock but some kids that are heavy LSU leans are Smith,Beckwith,Falkins,Claiborne,Lewis,Santa Maria,Wilson and Ellis. The OT Josh Thomas is a Texas lean but they have to offer first.
Ellis is a huge LSU lean. If offered it's a near certainty that he'll be a Tiger and quickly.
I agree with the poster about Diarse and Jefferson not locked into their current spot. I really like Diarse and at this point have him #1 but he's not "elite" so he's not a shoo in to be #1. As a measurable prospect he is far from elite. I do believe he's a near elite player though. Very similar to Jarvis Landry in that way. Neither are anywhere near "freakish" type athletes but just have a switch they turn on when playing. It's a thing that can't be measured. You just know it when you see it. I personally think Smith is the closest thing to an "elite" prospect in the state. Considering his position I do consider him elite. Dobard is also in that discussion when considering the position. Going to be a very interesting year of debate about who the top players in the state are. I think some people are going to be suprised at the level of talent in LA for 2013.

where does Diarse project to at the next level?

Did you read his tweets? If you don't consider him Bama bound then I don't know who you do...
Ricky's film is pretty impressive. I really like his speed. His film at this stage is already waaaay better than Jefferson's.
Diarse is apparently slow. He ran like a 4.8. Not sure if that will make his stock drop later or what. Dude is a baller though.

S most prominently because he lacks great top end speed and his size but some like him as a wr better and I'm one of them. The kid is special with the ball.

The same reason that kids leave GA,TX and FL when their teams are at or near the top. Some kids just leave. We're just spoiled with the LA kids. We feel entitled with them when we shouldn't. Recruiting is a crazy industry. The PP7 class is the last class we got every kid from the state we offered. We lose at least 1 every year. It doesn't make it suck any worse but it's time to get used to it. It's a natural occurence and not a sign of the staff losing grip of the state. It happens to every state in the country. Even OSU doesn't get every kid they offer in Ohio and they don't have an Alabama up there(though Bama did steal Depriest from up there). They lose kids to Michigan and ND. We lost kids to Bama this year and Auburn the 2 previous. It could've been OM or TAM. We're all right.
