I know some here don't care for him, but I love his commentary and I'll certainly miss it.

It's really gonna suck when he leaves the radio. Guy is the best play by play man in the league. Radio or TV.

I thought I heard that he was still going to be the play by play man for the games he was just stepping down on his weekday duties that he performed for WWL

One of the best ever. Terrific on air personality, play by play guy AND writer. Diehard Saints through and through. WWL televison has a history of cultivating top talent, and Jim is among the very best. He had plenty of chances to leave for a bigger stage, but he knew a good gig when he had it.

Not only is he a great PBP man -- he and Archie were my favorite broadcast team ever -- but he will always hold a special place for Saints fans since he was the voice of our golden season:

He has so many great calls but that's gotta be the best just because of the moment. If the search was working I'd try and find the thread where a few posters said they didn't care for his commentary.
