Steve Young says the field is as dry and fast as he has ever seen it. Ground keepers wanted to water it for a few more hours but NFL overruled it.

The Saints have no excuse then, that place is usually a slopfest in January. What about the wind? Candlestick, Soldier Field, Ralph Wilson Stadium are usually some of the worst places for that.

The weather forecast i saw earlier in the week called for hardly any wind. Saints have no excuses today.

Good for them, and us. I think you eventually will have all fields being field turf. No sense in playing on slop. Grass DOES NOT GROW in Chicago and Green Bay this time of year.

Off topic but I hope it fricking sleets for the New York Super Bowl. I believe it is next year?

Excuse me. Two years from now.

NY Superbowl is a terrible idea. I hope the city is frozen over so the idea of northern Superbowls dies a quick death. If they keep doing it, eventually it's going to happen.

Reports of soggy field in San Fran, but still four hours from game time. Let's not get all carried away.

Funny thing is I was just bitching to my friend about how it was bullshite that a team could tamper with their own field to hinder an opponent.

That's awesome the the NFL recognized this and said "no."

I'm sure the groundskeepers only watered that small part of the field

Aren't most fields designed to drain to the outside? That may be what that is...

I could be wrong, but doesn't the Giants/Jets new stadium have turf and not real grass? Pretty sure they put in turf so they could change out logos and endzones with ease. Not to mention, the weather can't affect playing surface as much as real grass would let it, thus making for one of the reasons the NFL decided to let a cold weather stadium host the Super Bowl again.
