With Zach Mettenberger coming in (who is a LEGIT passer), do we changer our offense and start passing more?

If we continue the run-run philosophy, we will never rank very high statistically in the NCAA and we could be in for more heartaches like we saw Monday night.

For the good of the program, we need to move on from this. That being said, CLM is going to HAVE to reorient his offense.

Seems like when Jimbo was the OC, offense was more exciting, and even through 2007. Flynn was also a LEGIT passer, so MAYBE things will turn around next year.

I sure as hell hope so. Why in the hell wouldn't me?

We don't have to be Okie St., but my god...throw the ball downfield!

Sure, if we lock Les up in the broom closet I can totally see that happening.

I think (hope) we will open it up a little more but we will still be a run oriented offense with the backs we have. The hope is that Mett is a great passer and we can relie on him when running game is stoped by Defenses like bama's. He is suppose to be a true passer. I assuming the O will go more to a 55-45 run pass rather than 67-32 run pass

Explain why you would like to do this when you have a top 2 defense in the nation.

We probably will pass a little more, but come on.

Yes because he is so against passing the ball. Let see what he does with a legit passer and not just average QB's

We had a legit passing threat for the first 8 games this season

Les decided he didn't want that anymore

I'm expecting us to throw more than last year but it won't be a wide open offense.

Please lets no start with lee isa legit passer he was average at best. He had his moments but tipically panicked and thew the ball up for grabs anf we all know JJ holds the ball to long. The were both average to below average which is why we ran so much andwhy the offence sucked when teams stuffed the run(happen in 10 quarters 2 v/s uga and 2 games v/s bama)

When JR was here slinging the ball,,,,,fans wanted a more mobile qb to run...Go figure.

We need to pass a lot more, especially on early downs. The days of trying to establish the running game in order to open up the passing game are over. Even Alabama, with it's physical dominance, passes often on first down. It's just the smart way to play the game these days.

haha +1, this O is horrible to watch. I really can't take watching to much more of it but I know I will if I have to.

I completely agree with this the days of setting up the run are over even in the pro's they start passing to set up the run. These d's are getting great and our O needs to transition to get better.

Please stop!! we saw the legitmate passing threat on 11/5 he froze up. He was NEVER put in a spot this year to have to throw. He was just average which is why he fell flat against the best D he saw in the last 2 years. JJ didn't do any better so don't make this a JJ v/s Jl thread. I am saying the are both average at best!!
