Best sentence in the article -- Saban is supposed to be an assassin and Les Miles a buffoon, but the thing about assassins is they're not accustomed to being shot back at, and the thing about buffoons is they're too dumb to be scared.

I'm sick and tired of our coach being insulted.

I think that Les does stuff to feed the Bafoon notions, it is part of his camouflage of the opposing team being out smarted and not knowing what is about to run over them. Much like a hunter wears camouflage in the field, the more you see this from Les, the more he is on the hunt and putting the "game" in the Bulls Eye dead center

That "bafoon" is making major bucks these days, and will pass Saban if he wins the BCSNC!

What the same writer posted on 11/2/11:

quote:

(1) — The final BCS ranking you'll expect Alabama to wind up with should they win on Saturday. As opposed to LSU. If LSU wins, it will still seem like anything can happen. It will seem possible that Arkansas could beat them, or even the East Division representative. If Bama wins, cancel the rest of the season and mail them their glass. Anything fragile or perishable? Yes, in fact.

My fellow tiger fans, what we are struggling with among the Gumps and the media is a battle of perception, the perception being that Bama is the better team. We've complained that Bama has to beat us only once to win the NC while we have to beat them twice. This quote proves that to have been the rule among the powers that be all year long. I HATE the fact that we have to prove ourselves against them AGAIN--that once wasn't enough--but maybe this is a good thing.

He hits the nail on the head: if Bama loses Monday, their entire identity as a program is called into question. Who are they if they are not the best in the SEC? The pressure Monday night is on Bama; they don't know how to coexist with the other schools in our conference if they are not the premier program. If we lose, well, we weren't supposed to be there because we're not better than Bama anyway.

Remember, this is all perception. We could win a tight game and STILL not get any respect from any of these people who hold to the perception that Bama is the better program.

And we'll cry tears into our crystal trophy...
