Saban the Best Recruiter

I call bullshite on this one. I spent an evening with Nick Saban and his wife directly after the NC game here in Scottsdale in 03 for ER coach of year award. I promise you......he sits on a level of prickishness I never knew existed. Going into the evening.....I idolized him......leaving.....I loved his wife. But he's a total prick. Now i wasnt being recruited by him....but I'm pretty sure others feel the same vibe I got. That being said.....I have a hard time believing he is so good. Now his staff......maybe. But we just lost this one and I chalk it up to that. Wasn't anything we did wrong.....coulda done better....good luck to the cat. But I hope we monkey stomp his arse going forward!

That what makes him the greatest recruiter ever. He's the biggest prick in the NCAA, but he gets these kids to keep lining up for him to abuse them.

And thus the types of players that are drawn to him. Look at most of these kids like Kirkpatrick, Maze and now Richardson with how they are shite talking. Look at all his players. They are mostly self-entitled pricks including Ingram when he was there. What makes Saban a good recruiter for those kids is they are just like him.
Les gets kids that while they are confident prove to be better kids IMO.

Picking a "best recruiter" is nearly impossible to me.
Sometimes the right coach just jives with the right player.
We plucked Sam Montgomery out of South Carolina and god knows how. No one expected it. But he loved Miles and Brick. Wanted to play for them.
Some guys may love Saban's approach and tactics. Others may be completely turned off by it.
Miles best tact has been winning over families and teaching kids that LSU will be "home." He will be their "second dad" etc. It works... a lot. But occasionally, it won't.
Obviously you try your best to understand the recruit and give him what he wants, but sometimes even that isn't enough and at the end of the day, you can't change your personality to win over one player.

This time it's about a GF, not the coach or university. If she leaves before he finishes it will prove it was a setup.
Of course no one knows who the hell she is or if she is real.

Bama just took the #1 spot again on Rivals. If it finishes that way Bama will get 1st place 4 out of the last 5 years. Do you have any idea how hard that is to do?

I dont care how much you resent Nick Saban you can not deny that he is one of the very best recruiters. Now that being said I still think Les Miles is a beter talent evaluator. He sees things in these kids who arent 5stars and he puts the in an enviromwnt where they can show how good they are.
Boy momentum has alot more to do with recruiting than i thought. We need to get another solid recruit to committ so we can build momentum beforw Howard and Edwards visit

The only reason he's going to Gumpville is for the nookie, period. Saban saw he couldn't sway him, so seeing he was pu55y whipped, they gave the girl a scholly, knowing he'd follow her like a lost puppy, and he did.
