Do you still like Ingram as a 1st rd pick?

In hindsight I wish they would've used the 1st pick for the defense.

No

And I didn't like it when it happened. Of course you have the RBs like AP..but I just don't think you should draft a RB in the first round in todays NFL.

I have the urge to punch you in the face because of your sig...

But, yeah, I still think Ingram will be a good RB.

Just what we needed; another Ingram thread.

You know you could just be happy about what happen today.

Not really. RBs like that are easy to get in the later rounds. If he was the complete package like Adrian Peterson, sure. Ingram isn't though. They have plenty of power backs with great balance and agility later rounds. Guys like AP who have 4.3 speed, power, balance and agility are the ones that should be 1st rounders. Too many teams use multiple backs now anyway.

I think Ingram will be a good football player though, just don't think we needed to drop a 1st round pick on a RB like that.

The Saints invested in Ingram to improve their RBC running game, and they did.

They had more rushing yardage this year than they had in 2009 when we won the Super Bowl.

Obviously right this minute I don't like it because his season is over due to injury. Plus, we don't have a 1st rounder in 2012. At the time of the 2011 draft, I have to admit......I was excited about the move up for him. Let's hope his play rises in 2012 to justify the 2 #1s for him, or he will really get scrutinized at the end of next season. I just don't see that special quality in him. Nothing that distances himself from Ivory or Thomas or even Sproles.

We didn't give up two first round picks. We traded next years first pick for an extra first this year. We gave up a second round pick.

It's only been 1 season.

Time will tell if the pick was successful. At the time it was a reactionary pick to what we failed to do last season.

We moved up bc none of the RBs on the roster could stay healthy. Would we have drafted MI if we knew that PT and Ivory would be healthy at the end of the current season and we would later sign Sproles?

Probably not, but you need to look at our RBs when we made the pick.

Time will tell with Ingram..If we hadnt have picked up Sproles he may have had a more productive year..You can never have to many good RB's (remember last year).

On this wonderful/record setting day, you feel the need to start a thread that has been started 100 times before? Some people can't be happy I guess.

No way but I never think you should use a first round pick on a running back.

Can't look at it that way. When the pick was made we were fresh off the Seattle loss. We were starting Julius Jones off of the scrap heap for gods sake. I liked the pick at the time sice we already had a defensive front guy picked up.

Like Meachem. He is a nice option for Brees now. Can't knock them out of the park everytime. That's why you hope a guy off the heap like colston is a diamond in the rough, and a guy like Graham who is a known talent becomes a stud. PAtience. We are loaded. And Like LSU we are poised to be relevant or in the thick of it for about 4-5 years.
