I was thinking that a 6.1 is around 150-200pts?

My bad. That's on Tigerbait. The website is having issues,so an admin posted a thread about our ranking with Kiel. We moved up to 3rd, with a little over 2000 points on Rivals.

Go to the team recruiting rankings on Rivals and click on the expanded team rankings and you can see the point values by position.Since Gunner is our only QB commit his will be the qb points. That number isn't the formula number but it's the minimum in his case. It would be a few points higher than that number. The Rivals formula experts on here may be able to do the math and get the exact number but I don't care enough to do it.

It starts out as 180 points minimum, the difference being that you swap out a 3 star for this 5 star commit (70 points vs 250 points). One drops off as the other is counted.

But then there are other factors like our average star rating going from 3.52 to 3.59 factoring into the equation. And the fact that he is in the top 5 of his respective position (bonus points in the formula).

So essentially we should get about 200 points total, maybe slightly more.

lsufanva, they don't list anything under QB position for LSU at this point.

Nothing has been updated.

We're still #5 on Rivals. They have not updated.

Oh didn't know that. Sorry for the confusion but the poster above is likely the guy to talk to about it. He seems to have the formula down pretty good. The way I said would be the way to go if they had updated. That's what I look at. It is very important to understand that the nubers in the expanded rankings are not the formula numbers. I thought they were for a few years and kept wondering why the math never added up. Then I came here and someone gave out the formula and my confusion was lifted.

I just ran the numbers through the formula I had from 3 years ago (not sure if anything has changed) and I came up with 1969 points. So essentially 184 points for Kiel.

Edit: Correction, my initial calculation had a mistake

2008 points, 3rd place (223 point bump)

2455 * (200/250) + 218 * (50/250) = 2008

You obviously care because you keep reading these threads. If you really don't...don't read them.

To those that do care...it looks like the top classes over the past ~5 years have landed in the 2600-3000 range. I could see us getting to 2500+ and maybe higher depending on LC and Edwards. We've averaged somewhere around 2400 or so over that timeframe. Based on the rankings...looks like another great year for Les. Does not caring somehow make you !

Any team in the top 10 should be happy. IE we should be happy.

Bama isn't worried about the rankings.

According to them they didn't want Kiel. Apparently, they were fooled when they initially offered him, but found out later that he absolutely sucks as a QB, can't handle competition, has mental breakdowns, horrible accuracy, bad footwork, is slow as molasses, and has a really bad attitude and mouths off to coaches and other players. Apparently, he's a combinations of everything bad about Jefferson, Lee, and Perriloux, with none of the good.

Peyton and Gunner.......

If Gunner is 6-4 then Payton is 6-7.

By they way....this is a great read on Gunner.

Do you have the formula? Also did you account for whatever boost he gets for being no. 1 at his position? I thought I saw them mention once that no. 1 at a position gets an extra boost.
