Curious to hear what they say about his MVP chances.

EDIT: Paige: 1)rodgers - said he may be having the greates season ever. 2) Brady 3)Brees

Cowlishaw said he's putting up great numbers against a tougher sched so he deservves to be in the discussion.

Thats about what everyone said. Its Rodgers to lose.

I dont get this if Brees sets the NFL record for yards AND re-sets the record for completion percentage AGAIN this year. He needs to beat Rodgers in TDs too... then it would be very tough to vote Rodgers when Brees has better stats in those 3. I expect Brees will have a shot as Rodgers may sit some.

they arent gonna give league MVP to a Saint period, he could break 6 records this year and they would not give it to him , he just needs to be the superbowl MVP

i love that td's became the barometer of ultimate achievement. Brees plays for a small market team. As good as we are, we are still a small market. Neither is having the season drew is having. it hurts brees that the saints actually have a running attack that isn't a one yard plunge from john kuhn.

I hope Payton puts the pedal down in the red zone and Brees gets 5 passing TDs each of the next two games.

I think the biggest drag on Brees in terms of stats this year is his QB rating compared to Rodgers which overshadows the other record breaking stats.

Brees' rating is almost 11 points lower - ~109 vs ~120. That gap is too much to make up over two games.

PTI just said they both give it to rodgers as well. He's better in TDs and INTs.

The problem this year is every one has jumped on the Rodgers bandwagon.

Drew is superior to Rodgers in this respect ,
Take Brees out of New Orleans we are the Indianapolis Colts.

Take Rodgers out of Green Bay, I beleive they still go 8-8.

That's just my opinion and yes I'm looking through black and gold glasses.

Agreed, but Manning beat Brees out for MVP in 09 with a 99 QBR vs Brees's 109. I'd say if Brees can get within 6 or so points of Rodgers while breaking the completion % and passing yard records, he deserves significant consideration. Especially if manages to pull even with (or surpass) Rodgers in TDs.

Didn't Brees have better stats than Manning when they fricked Brees in 2009?

Brees is the best LEADER... so I think he should get the MVP.

Stats can get skewed depending on who you play or who's playing with you, but leadership is unmistakable...

We have a good o line some explosive players and a real coach. Yea we win at least 6. not taking away from the fact that brees makes us who we are. I just think this team finds a way for around 6w games at least.

When the Colts had Manning, their line was considered to be among the best in the league. They were thought to have explosive players galore at the skill positions, including a HOFer in Reggie Wayne and a stud TE in Dallas Clark. Plus excellent complimentary players like Garcon and Collie. Funny how much a HOF QB's absence can change things. I don't think our line would look as good without a machine like Brees making pre-snap reads and striking with a lighting-quick release and surgical precision to the skill players allowing them to make explosive plays.
