Best moments of the football season

What stood out to you this year as moments you'll never forget this year? Either a play or a time you and a friend were talkin and you just had that feeling, or anytime you were just proud to be a tiger this year.

For me, the first came in Dallas with TM7's fumble recovery for a touchdown. That was the first time my adrenaline started pumping and made me feel like this season had the potential to be really special.

The second, and by far the biggest, was the Northwestern game at halftime for the 9/11 show. I am in tiger band and was in my 5th day of middle school (6th grade) on 9/11. I am from New York across the bay from Manhattan and could see the smoke from the towers from my house and school. It's an image I'll never be able to forget. Had my classroom been on the other side of the building, I would have watched the 2nd tower come down. If you remember, tiger band took their hats off for Amazing Grace. With those hats and the brims, you can really only see 10 rows or so of the stands. When we took the hats off I could see the whole western side of the stadium. It will be the only time I ever see that from the field. It was great to see that half a country away, and in an entirely different culture, I got to have that experience with fellow tigers and fellow Americans that most people from my town would never even dream of.

The next was during the Auburn game. That span of about 10 minutes when the team was playing on a level I've only seen in video games. Every tackle was a sportscenter hit and offensive play felt like a huge gain. If there was ever a time that a team could play perfectly in every sense of the game, that was it.

The last one I'll share was after the SECCG. Obviously being a northern transplant and having nearly no exposure to real college football, I wasn't always an LSU fan (or college football fan for that matter). I became one in 2003 after the national championship and really fell in love with the team in 2006. So I read up on the history and read about the horrible years in the late 80s/early 90s. I am a jets fan so I can empathize with being irrelevant but still being a huge fan. When Les got up to speak during the trophy celebration and we played All of the Lights and All I Do Is Win, the feeling came over me that I was a part of the glory days of LSU football. 50 years from now when the team cycles through some bad periods and some more good periods, we will look back and talk about the 3 National Championship appearances in 9 years (and counting). It was just a very surreal moment and one that I'll never forget. It was like feeling patriotic, but for LSU and being proud to be a Tiger.

What stood out to you this year?

ETA:
Honorable mention: I didn't put this because I wasn't at the game but ... I was at the Varsity for the Bama game. Once the game went into overtime I knew the tigers had it. That was the time when I knew this team was going to the BCSCG and nothing was going to stop us.

Good post

-Reid's interception in the Alabama game.

-Claiborne's Kickoff Return for a TD in the WVU game.

-Mathieu's HUGE punt returns for TD's in the Arkansas and Georgia games.

Did read. Awesome stuff.

My favorite moment of the season was either the entire OT period against Bama or Mathieu's punt return TD against Georgia...I know it ended up being a blowout, but at the time, it was beyond important.

Along with the big ones that have been named...

-Odell Beckham's catch and run against Kentucky

-The partying and celebration that ensued when Alleman hit the game winner at Bama

-Seeing 12-0 on the scoreboard after beating Arkansas and wrapping up a perfect regular season

Great post, really heartfelt! For me, it was the Auburn game, the two long touchdown passes to Randle. One from each QB. It was also the only game I got to go to this year because of financial reason, and it was an ABSOLUTE BEATDOWN! I enjoyed every moment and am blown away by how good this team is!

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I was in Boston for the LSU/Bama game and at a formal dinner with about sixten people when they kicked off. I had my I-phone and my wife and I were watching the game during the dinner. One of the guys at the dinner was a former UF player and he managed to get over to my side of the table to watch the game. We were able to get out of there after the first half. Beating Bama was the best.

Loved Lee's TD pass to Randle to open the game against UF.

Here's to hoping your situation improves.
All tiger fans deserve at least one game a year and hopefully many more.

One moment that particularly sticks out for me is Reid's form tackle on third down against msu killing any momentum for them

I'm sure it was memorable. But you should also remember how to spell "Manhattan".

Two big ones for me were in the WVU game (which I nervously watched in a sushi restaurant)--

Lee's 52-yard TD pass on 3rd and 1 to OBJ. This is when I knew we had the coaching to win a shootout.

The Claiborne 99-yard return for a TD later in the same game. This killed the WVA rally and got us back on the track to domination.

Mingo running down James behind the line gave me the first glimpse of how the season would unfold.
Not a single play, but scoring 35 unanswered to win the SEC title by 32 was just dominating and telling of how special this team is.

The Oregon woman throwing her drink on me after we scored to make it 40 for the Tigers. I called her a quack whore and expected nothing less from such.

re: Best moments of the football season

Watching BAMA get beat with (cocky BAMA fan) Hank Williams jr. and seeing his reaction with the interception. He would literally beat his chest like a gorilla when BAMA would do something good. I was the only LSU fan in the suite (husband is Arkansas and everybody else was BAMA) so it was a little lonely and awkward. But I'll never forget the big ole hug and jubilant celebration i had with the first random LSU fan i ran into after the game. Unless you've ever lived in Alabama, I don't think you can fully appreciate how arrogant and gross most BAMA fans are and how important it is to beat them. I can not believe we have to go through the build up and obnoxious smack again. The auburn game was incredibly memorable too, just in a totally different way too.....so stress free! What a great game for my one trip to Tiger Stadium a year! GEAUX TIGERS. Fast forward to 1/9 PLEASE!
