the word cajun should never be associated with anything that comes from or is located in Alexandria

They actually brought these guys to my buddy's property while we were there for his bachelor party so they could film some shots of the land. These were some sleazy looking frickers.

I guess it's only a matter of time until every pawn shop in America has their own show.

Those ads run on my parent's cable in Ruston. Thought it was a local business and have been wondering why they named it Cajun.

Edited to add:

Not the same business. There is a local pawn shop in Ruston and west Monroe named Cajun Pawn. Their ads have a jingle that includes the name "Cajun Pawn".

It's not in this ad but I wonder if this has been addressed by History Channel's attorneys.
West Monroe Cajun Pawn ad

From the article:
quote:

Silver Dollar is operated by Jimmie "Big Daddy" DeRamus, along with DeRamus' daughter Tammie and his younger brother Johnnie.

Googled Tammie DeRamus and found no pictures.

Anyone know if she's a looker?

WOW. I wondered why they built a huge new parking lot to the side of it.

To reiterate the point, cant believe they are saying cajun and Alexandria in the same sentence. Wonder if they will fake a cajun accent, or are the owners real transplanted cajuns?

Go listen to the ad on Archie Bengal Bunker's link. No Cajun accent.

I know quite a few folks who are Cajun but have lost their accent once moving from down south. I do believe Alex isn't really a cajun area, though.

Someone asked if the guy was going to have a fake cajun accent. I told him I listened to the ad and didn't hear any cajun accent.

Who knows, once the show starts the guy may start talking with an accent.

Louisiana reality shows are blowing up.

Just today I saw a rerun of a top gear filmed in Henderson. Some baja looking vehicle vs an air boat. Not sure how I never heard/saw this.

I just found out about this. What's funny is, those people at Silver Dollar are Italians and Alexandria is not even close to bein a cajun city. So, the name is kinda retarded.
Maybe, they got a bunch of them Avoyelles Parish coonasses to come up there and sell some shite. They might put Swap Shop out of business.

Also, about a year ago I went in there and commented about Pawn Stars to them. They all said they hated that show cuz it's such a fraud.

So 45 minutes away is "not even close"? I know several Cajuns who live there.
