Listening to Avery Johnson's interview with TIgerRag - LINK - and at the 6 minute mark he says "Coach Miles and Billy Gonzales said there is a 99% chance Reuben goes to the draft"

Pretty good piece anyway and he seems like a great kid!

Detillier said just yesterday that he might not grade above the 2nd round. If that's the case and with Mett taking over next year, I wouldn't rule out him coming back just yet.

I think he would def benefit staying his senior year, esp. with Mett playing qb...It just kind of shocked me that he came out and said that

I dont' see why he would go to the draft. His stock will get so much higher next year because the draft isn't going to be as strong

I remembered the SAME thing when he was on AFR. I can't see the guy leaving for 2nd round when his catches will only go UP next year. But who knows.
Hope he sticks around.

He is going to screw himself out of a lot of guaranteed money if he goes this year. Mett will make him look like a rockstar next year. But I do understand if he went. Nothing is guaranteed in football because there is always that risk of injury. I hope he comes back!

I would think that with the wr class being deep that he would come back and solidify his first rd grade

His brother Dmitch said about a week ago this was all bad info

He added, at best RR will seek the NFL for advice on what to improve on...

If he does leave early that might tell us something about Mett's real ability.

I wonder if Avery Johnson misquoted the coaches..seems kind of odd for the coaches to be giving that info out to recruits

Sounds to me like the perfect thing to tell a recruit. Avery fits the mold of what RR does in the offense. Tell him RR is leaving, and promise him his playing time. If RR has no plans of entering the draft and stays, then just say he had a change of heart and they were going off their opinions.

I personally feel that he is ready, and had he played for a pass happy offense like OkState, he'd be the #2 receiver.

His stock in the draft would be higher. But he didn't go there, so....

99% of all statistics are made up.

But seriously, there IS a chance that Reuben Randle could declare for the draft, though. If that's what is best for him, I have no problem with it.

That's part of building a program. You want your players ti have success and then have suitable people to replace them.

Didn't Russell Shepard come to LSU bc Les told him he could play QB? Then when he got here put him in the position that was best for him and the team? Catch my drift?

Exactly. All's fair in love and recruiting. If Avery wants to start, tell him he has a really good shot at being a starter, and say whatever you can to support that, that isn't a flat out lie. Notice they didn't say RR is 100% to the draft...

"Oh he had a want, to remain in the LSU uniform for another year, here's your redshirt."
