I was thinking the same thing, but it takes one interview for that recruit to start throwing out coaches names and what was said during his in-home visit.

People say that every year, then every year new players that they didn't think about emerge, and nearly all the draft classes end up roughly equal.

A good litmus test for 3rd year players should be if they are projected 1st round draft. If so, they should go. Unless you come from a very wealthy family like "Andrew Luck" or can afford the insurance then you should go.

Exactly. All's fair in love and recruiting. If Avery wants to start, tell him he has a really good shot at being a starter, and say whatever you can to support that, that isn't a flat out lie. Notice they didn't say RR is 100% to the draft...

"Oh he had a want, to remain in the LSU uniform for another year, here's your redshirt."

One thing not guaranteed is that Mett will make RR look like a rock star. The only way RR drops below 45 is if he blows his interviews. He is an outstanding receiver prospect. He has size, speed, reliable hands, and he's a good blocker. The pros are going to cream over him. The only thing he's never displayed in college is the ability to make the brilliant catches. He's gone.

Didn't Russell Shepard come to LSU bc Les told him he could play QB? Then when he got here put him in the position that was best for him and the team? Catch my drift?

No, I don't catch your drift. Shep ASKED to be moved to wide receiver so he could see the field sooner.

Listening to Avery Johnson's interview with TIgerRag - LINK - and at the 6 minute mark he says "Coach Miles and Billy Gonzales said there is a 99% chance Reuben goes to the draft"

You guys are fools if you don't think RR is going to the NFL draft. He big, tall, awesome, easily excitable, and extremely elusive. I'd say 50/50 he goes this year, and 99% next year. 1% is the Chad Jones type of injury factor.

wonder if Avery Johnson misquoted the coaches..seems kind of odd for the coaches to be giving that info out to recruits

This is what I am thinking.... Sounds really out of character for CLM... But, hey... who knows.

No fool, they didn't say which year. Over the next two years, there's a 99% chance RR goes to the draft. Anyone disputing that?

sure

not really no

Les tried to talk RS out of becoming a full time WR/Ath for LSU and to keep working on developing as a QB.

In this case it was RS not LM that made the decision to move RS away from the QB position

i just don't see why he would go pro.. i don't know if he cracks the first 4 rounds..

i will say if he can break out against alabama this time he may push himself into the top 2-3 rounds and then should really consider going pro.

Why not?..Randle is a very good wideout..It would be wise for him to go...Time for him to make that money..and remember, there is no guarantee that he will have a stellar season next year...

And how do you know the draft wont be as strong next season...Unknown athletes step up every season.....

50/50 is still looking through rose colored glasses. Why would he stay another year? Don't rookies have a max 4 yr deal with a cap? The goal is to go in the first round and then get through 4yrs of pro ball so they can break the bank. Staying another year, provided the NFL already knows how good he is(which they do), would only take money away from him by wasting up a year of playing football on a not for profit basis. Wouldn't it make more sense to him to use the same year and turn a profit?
