I currently only have a shotgun and a 30.06 but I am looking to buy a handgun. Do you guys think I should stick to a revolver (.357) as my first handgun or go with a semi? Maybe a .45? Thanks for the advice in advance.

Just make sure you youtube whatever it is you do with them.
Oh, and post a link when you do. Kthx.

*edit* - In the event you cannot post whatever it is you do with them because of a result of whatever it is you did do...leave instructions for someone else that you trust. Kthxagin.

Just to let you know, they've been using metal detectors for the past couple of games in the superdome.

I think we'll use shotgun quite a bit against Bama, never heard of the revolver or semi formation though...very interesting stuff...

Outdoor board.

Personally I would get a 1911, but a quality 1911 can be pricey. 9mm is all the craze these days (relatively low recoil, light weight, and high capacity magazines), but I'm still a supporter of .45

Also, if you have children and want to use the handgun as self defense consider this: if you leave a revolver loaded all a kid has to do is cock it and pull the trigger. With a semi-auto you can leave the magazine loaded, but not in the gun and the kid would have to know to load the magazine, chamber a round, and turn off the safety.

I say this for anyone looking at hand guns. Its like clothes. Go to the store and try one on. Get a feel for which one fits best IN YOUR HANDS. After that narrow it down to caliber.

For around the house, the revolver.

If you want to carry, an autoloader.

IMHO

the pistol worked well when flynn was QB but we should stick to the shotgun when not under center

neither of our QBs have rocket arms

I have 9mm and .45 (Glock 9mm & .45 and Beretta 9mm). I like both but the G36 (.45) is my walking around piece.

S&W revolvers have a trigger lock that has been known to get stuck and lead to some sketchy situations

45 for sure, great knock down power for a hand weapon! For personal use for home protection...12 gauge shotgun is the best! A safety course is strongly advised!
