Help PLEASE - BEST headset for Xbox 360 Live?

I have read review after review and searched the board as well.
Can you guys please give me your opinions on the best headset with mic? My son wants one for Christmas and I want to get something that's good but that doesn't cost 200 bucks!He plays MW 2 and 3 live a lot.

I have a $60 Turtle Beach X11. Works perfectly fine for every game I've ever played. If you look around you can find some good ones on sale for around $30. Might have a Black Friday only deal though.

i got the px21 turtlebeaches. The are multi-platform. Light weight, has a mic, and volume/chat/bass controls. Got them on amazon for $75 I think.

Yeah, I paid 60ish for mine. Wired can be a pain, but from what I'm told so can the batteries on the wireless versions. Multiple times I've played with frans and they cut out and had to change batteries.

I don't mind my wired headsets. Although, I don't have any kids or pets that will start gnawing on them, so I'm safe there.

This, I bought mine when they were on sale, and used a $20 gift certificate I had gotten on Amazon for pre-ordering with them on some game. Ended up only spending $10 of my own money.
(They are wired, but excellent headphones)

order them off Amazon, if you get them direct from that site they ship from the UK and take forever.
They are a solid investment

X31 are wireless and have excellent sound. Not having wires all over the floor while you vacuum would be a nice benefit. rechargeable batteries are a great thing.

Does he just want a headset so he can talk to his friends, or does he want to listen to the game's audio through the headset as well? If he just wants to be able to talk to his friends, I recommend the Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Headset.

I got turtle beach x41s on monday for only $80 brand new. Had to go through a pretty sketch deal on craigslist from a guy in Georgia, but I got them and they are amazing
