By the most expensive Nikons you want to afford. They are all quality and go from $80-$1000.

Your best bet is to go to a store that will let you take then outside and try them. I went binocular hunting Saturday thinking I wanted high end Leupold, Nikon, or maybe splurge for Zeiss and walked out with a set of Burris. It really just depends on what feels good to you and how they fit your eyes.

I just got the Nikon Monarch ATB binoculars for $260 from Cabelas. You can get 8x42 for $230, that's a bit over $200, but they still seem to be a great value. They are exceptionally clear, compact, and lightweight. I've used them on a few hunts and I've been very impressed.
