i dont think any will defect, but Patrick Miller would not surprise me

with the down seasons for Miami, UF and FSU, he could have the opportunity to walk in and start at those schools

This is a pretty good question, since it seems like most years someone defects on NSD. I think 2 good past examples are Pat White who switched from LSU to West Virginia and and Ryan Perrilloux, who switched from Texas to LSU, though most expected that to happen.

Davis, Thomas, Bourque, and Miller wouldn't surprise me defecting and I wouldn't be shocked to hear from Spence coming this way.

Bourque and Thomas are coming. Davis I feel is getting some speculation but I think he stays as well. You will get PT here as a true freshman even in trash time.

I haven't anything about Miller, but the way it happened so fast he must have feel in love with us. unless something happens we aren't even going after any more lineman I think Miles feels good about theses guys.

Miller is going nowhere.
Thomas is/was thinking of tripping to USC but he has been our biggest recruiter of all the commits this year. Orgeron isn't that good.

Bourque is rumored to look around if/when Hill joins but I have doubts about that. You have to think the coaches talked to him and his father about Hill and if so why hasn't he started looking around? Where is he going to go? People always point to TAM but they have 3 rbs with one being Trey Williams. They also are limited on scholarships and need defensive help. Whereever he goes is going to have depth at rb and other rbs in the class. LSU holds here imo

Davis is the one I'm concerned about. Texas has been on him all year and are recruiting him for the position he prefers(DE). He's visiting for their biggest weekend of the year with all their commits and families. No matter how much any of dislike/hate Texas we must admit that they have everything that we have as a program and likely more. They should never be underestimated. However, I do feel that Davis will stick with LSU but he is my biggest concern as of now.

If we're not recruiting him as a DE, we should be IMO.

Pretty sure we are. At the very least, that's where he is going to end up wherever he goes.

We keep everyone. Bourque has a kid. He isn't going anywhere, even if he wanted to. Texas is a mess. Torshiro will take over after Montgomery goes pro next year, he's here in BR. Dwayne Thomas is from O. Perry Walker. Frank and Freak have got that school on lockdown. If we lose anyone Granier will get a grayshirt.

It's almost public knowledge that Mack Brown will with some probability be stepping down after next year. Why Torshiro and many other Tejas recruits would want to go to UT, with all the uncertainty of recent, current, and foreseeable near future too..is beyond me.

There was smoke on the MB bolting UT front of late, because there is some fire. I spent Thanksgiving in Texas, my cousin is best friends with a current Horn's mother. Her hubby said there is a strong contingent of Horn boosters that have long had enough of MB's lax ways, but that Carroll's mismanagement of a double digit lead with 4 minutes left in 2006 Rose Bowl, bought him immense clout with Dodds. Said he hears Mack would step aside after 2012.

Mack was aloof in 2010, lost to UCLA & ISU in humiliating fashion(avenged both strongly in 2011). Despite somewhat poseur demeanor of faux-energy & some enthusiasm over his young Horns in 2011's limited 'so-called bounceback season', he looks worn, and melancholy over his need to develop Ash and McCoy Jr into the type QB that Texas has needed to carry the load over his tenure.

The player's father said many of the kids view MB as a mere figurehead and Team GM, often easing in and out of coaching efforts to more a GM and back-forth..says they look at Harsin and Diaz as there real coaches. Also said many were relieved to see Muschamp leave the C-I-W slot, thought overrated.

Mack Brown is burnt out, doesn't have the energy level to get Texas back to the top of the mountain where their boosters want them, and he well knows this, has supposedly said so behind closed doors. I'm not talking about those 10+ win seasons..I mean an BCSCG appearance.

Petersen, Saban, and other elite HCs etc..their agents will surely hear from Dodds in the next 12 months, if haven't already..it's coming!

You have it nailed down--Roar Restored. I live in Texas & it's pretty much well known among many Longhorn followers & alums that there are a lot of doubters about Brown's ability to get UT back to the caliber of program they pretty much demand.

Somehow Brown hangs on, but the handwriting on the wall is getting stronger each & every day.

I think the rumors of all drops have all gone by the wayside at this point. If we lose anyone now it will be someone that committed early and desides they aren't going to be able to compete. Possible that we haven't stayed on a few guys hot and heavy that have already committed because we have better recruits just waiting for a chance opening in this years class.
